My first impression of Dr. Lee was that she was a very caring and compassionate doctor. It felt like she wanted to make a difference in the lives of her patients. She has a very sweet, calm and beautiful personality. She remained the same from the time we met to our followup visits. Her staff was just as warm and comforting as she. I cannot think of anything single negative thing about my experience with Dr. lee. I would highly recommend Dr. Lee to anyone considering WLS in the DC area. She has a very structured before, during and aftercare program that's very informative and leaves no questions unanswered. She is very upfront with the risks of the surgery, but she also comforts you by telling you of her excellent track record of successful surgeries. Both her surgical competence and bedside manner are above and beyond excellent!!
I met with Dr.Lee on 1/25/08 and she was very good, explained in detail,is very sympathetic toward's her patient's feeling's and decision to go through with WLS. I feel very good about her,and cant wait to get this surgery done and over with! I'm ready for a new me in 08'.rnI had my surgery and she took good care of me post-op, she is ultra-conservative in her approach and really does care about her patient's. She gave me her cell# to call her daily until I see her for my early post-op visit.
Dr. Juliette Lee is an attractive young woman that takes her role as a medical doctor seriously. She was very informative on my first visit with her and was also willing to listen to my concerns and address them with clarity. The staff was impressive as well. Her assistant took time to come by to say hello to me. Overall, on a scale from 1-5, I would rate my introduction to Dr. Lee and her staff a 5 (5, of course being the highest).rnrnDr. Lee did inquire if I had any questions that I was dying to ask her (dying being the operative word) which threw me a bitrn. . .we'll have none of that! LOL
I liked Dr.Lee as soon as I met her. She was up front on my condition, and reccommended that I speak with my PCP immediately and have her backing. rnrnMy impression of her hasn't changed over time and I like her still.rnrnI would describe her office staff as being just as good as her. They are polite and have a good manner to them.rnrnI didn't find it bothersome that she had her students with her, we as some people would have found that to like least about them. But it's a teaching hospital so I expected it, the students have to learn from someone.rnrnAs for future patients, learn as much as you can about what you are expecting from her, and let her know what you expect.rnrnShe emphasizes after care and support groups. She actual wants you to attend them before and after the surgery. She WON'T do your surgery unless you have attended the pre-op support meeting.rnrnShe told me the risks, some that I knew of, and some that I didn't know of.rnrnOverall I would give her a 8 out of 10 so far since I haven't had my surgery yet.rnrnAs for surgical competence and bedside manner, these are both great to me. I want these in addition to the aftercare in my surgeon.rnrnAs for negative things, I didn't have any expect the wait to get an appointment with her. Since she is very busy with consults, surgeries, and teaching I could understand it. I also didn't like the criticism of my diet then when I met with her, but understood what I was doing wrong when she pointed it out. So that has come to be a positive.
Dr. Lee was very professionally and very understanding. She went over everything she will do during the surgery in great detail. She had 2 students with her as well and she made that entire experience totally comfortable. Dr. Lee did not make me feel rushed and made me feel like I was important to her. She does appear young but she is very knowledgable. She really cares about the entire process and the after care which is so important. Im so glad she is my surgeon.
I liked her a lot. She was very informative and took time to go over the procedure and what would be happening in the days following, in the hospital. She also, took time to speak with my son who was very upset about my decision. I saw her everyday, except the last in the hospital, Then she was much more business like and seemed in more of a hurry. As far as aftercare I'm really, really glad I went through Kaiser's Program because theirs was more structured and compehensive.rnShe addressed the risks of surgery as something that comes along with any surgery a person might have to have. But she also assured me that that there were a lot of steps in place to keep thing from happening. Then continued to tell me about those steps.
I met with Dr. Lee yesterday and really liked her. She is very personable and really cares about you and your struggles and truly desires to help you live a better life. Even though she was running very late because of a trauma surgery she was called into, I never felt she was trying to rush me and answered all of mine and my husbands questions.rnrnHer office staff was very helpful and very knowledgeable about weight loss and the types of tests and requirements that could be required. rnrnOne of the things I most liked was that she wants life long aftercare, at least once a year after the first year. During the first year I will see her once every other week for three months, then every three months for the rest of the year and probably every six months for the 2-3 years. They will run full blood work during each visit starting at three months to make sure you are not starting to get deficient in any areas.
