James Balliro Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr. Balliro is a wonderful surgeon. He is not the most personable person in the world but he is very knowledgable. You have to go into his office with a list of the questions you have and he will sit down and answer them throughly but he is not going to hold your hand or anything. He is very business-like, no beating around the bush, but I liked that. After all I was using him for his surgical skills not to spend the rest of my life with him.

His office staff was very nice, but they too are very busy.

Dr. Balliro encourages you to purchase a plan that includes a nutricianist.

I think he is a wonderful surgeon, definately the best in Tallahassee. Everyone at the hospital spoke very highly of him and think that says alot. His surgical competence is definately rated higher than his bedside manner, but he took wonderful care of me.

I have had one visit and was very impressed. I am looking forward to working with him on getting HPSE to cover the surgery. I will update this as time goes by.

HIS OFFICE STAFF IS VERY VERY VERY GR8 THEY HELP U WHEN U NEED THAT MOST CARE AND THEY HAVE A OPEN EAR.
IF U ARE PLAINING ON HAVE DOC BALLIRO AS YOUR DOC THAT IS YOUR BEST ONE THAT U CAN PICK HIM AND HIS STAFF IS THE BEST AS FAR AS I CAN SAY.WHEN U ARE IN THERE WITH HIM HE GOES OVER EVERY THING ABOUT THE SURGERY, FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. AND LEAVES NOTHING OUT. AND HE WILL LET U ASKED HIM STUFF AND HE WILL TELL U ABOUT THEM AND HE WILL LET U KNOW THAT U WILL BE JUST FINE AND AND WILL NOT LIE TO U AT ALL.HE WILL BE UP RIGHT WITH U AT ALL TIMES. HIM AND HIS STAFF WAS THE BEST. AND HE IS ON CALL AT ALL TIMES,

My first impression of Dr. Balliro was that he was straight to the point, he knows about this stuff and I was satisfied with the information that he gave me. My impression of him never has been change. The staff of Dr. Balliro is very nice and understanding. Nothing about Dr. Balliro dislike me I would recommended to anybody. He explain everything about the surgery, how is done, the risk, and you just has to follow what he said and stick to that. Also he is always willing to answer any question that you have. I been visited him now for 2 years and I'm ready to go tummy tuck on May. I will rate him with a 13 (from 1 to 10). I never had a problem with Dr. Balliro he is exellent on the surgical and bedside manner too. If I had to do this again I will do it with him.

My surgeon is Dr. James Balliro. He is great. I have heard other people say that he had a bad bedside manner, but found that wasn't a problem with me.

His office staff can be a little "rough on the edge" sometimes. But, they are knowledgable about the whole surgery process. If you ever have any questions, they can answer them.

I would suggest Dr. Balliro to anyone that wants to have this surgery.

Dr. Balliro is a VERY skilled weight loss surgeon but his bedside manner leaves a bit to be desired. That is typical of most surgeons I have had dealings with in the past. He is very knowledgeable and was great about explaining everything during our pre-op consultation. His office staff is a little rough around the edges but they can be sweet and mean well. I do however find his aftercare to be seriously lacking. I still go in for check ups but they are no more than a weight check really.

When I first met him I thought he was very thorough.
My impression did not change except to think he was terrific to do this kind of work to help people.
His staff was very helpful, and patient with me when I was feeling so bad they were always kind to me.
The only thing I would say I don't like about him is that he is so busy that sometimes he forgets that we are scared and what he says is normal, to us as the patient its the first time it has happened to us and at times I was scared to death.
That he is terrific, very skilled. A wonderful surgeon. I can't say enough about how great he is.
He really emphasizes after care. You have weekly vists, and he has a dietician follow you for a year.

He talked to me about it, as well as I had questions about the risks. I was worried about being put to sleep, being so large.
As I said I think he is great. He is a terrific surgeon and a nice man. I have recommended him to others and hope if you need him you will contact him.
As far as I am concerned both are great.
