George Angus Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I just met with Dr. Angus today. He is the third surgeon I have seen in the long island area and I am very glad I found him. He is a soft spoken, kind, sincere person. HE was informative, patient intelligent and very secure in his work. I was hesitant with going to NUMC, and still alittle apprehensive after dealing with some of his nurses but once I spoke to Dr Angus I trully am at peace with my decision. I trust him fully after only having met him once. He treats his patients like his family, guarenteing to care for them with the best of his abilitiy. I should be having surgery within the next 6-8 weeks and am no longer nervouse about my health. I feel I will be in the best of hands..The greatest thing about Dr. Angus is that he is extremly intelligent..AND has a bedside manner to match.. Highly highly recommended!! Th e only downside is his office staff...Nurses in the hospital not overly friendly, and regina his "right hand woman" is nice but always very busy....Definetly worth putting up with...for a great Dr.

Dr. Angus is the most professional, caring, knowledgable, Doctor/Surgeon I have ever met. He takes his time with you on office visits, explains the procedure in full, with drawings and booklets. He truly cares for his patients and we feel like his children. He attends the monthly support group meetings and actually gets embarrassed if you praise him. His attitude is that he just does the mechanics, you as the patient have the hard work to do after surgery, so he doesn't take any credit for your success. He makes himself available 24/7 and insists you call him with any question.
Dr. Angus is not only a Bariatric Surgeon, he is Director of Trauma at Nassau University Medical Center which is the leading Trauma Center on Long Island. He has many years of experience with Bariatric Surgery, and is extremely cautious with prior health conditions. He will order any test necessary to make sure you are in the best possible condition prior to surgery and that there are not surprises...He has never lost a patient.
I believe his program and Nassaue University Medical Center is the best around. From the initial visit to the aftercare, his staff is there for you and handles everything needed before and after surgery.
Based on my personal experience with Dr. Angus and his staff....This man is a true gift to the medical community...and the NY Metro area.

Dr. Angus is great. He is very straight-foward
and explains everything that went on and will go
on.

All the risks were explained and of course
they out-weighed the benefits.
