I first met Dr. Vaughn at a seminar for prospective bariatric patients. In fact, that was a big reason I decided to go ahead and find out if I would be eligible for the surgery. I was pleased with everyone affiliated with Barix, and especially Dr. Vaughn. When I went to see him for the consult, I had a million questions, and he took the time to answer every single one. He was very frank about the risks, the importance of continuing care, and working with the facility all the way. On top of everything, Dr. Vaughn made me feel very comfortable, and I decided to have open RNY because I realized that with him as my surgeon, the recovery would be easier than everyone had told me. My feeling is that more important than the type of surgery is the competence of the surgeon and I know Dr. Vaughn is the best.

Dr. Vaughn is wonderful! He is very comforting and explains all the procedure. My mom & I loved our consultation. I also loved the Barix Clinic staff! Great People!
I would have liked to see a little more of Dr. Vaughn after surgery but Ill see him at my follow ups. No complications so far!

My first impression of Dr. Eric is that he is very thorough. My husband was very concerned about the surgery and it's risk's. Dr. Eric took his time and answered all of our questions. When we left we felt very comfortable with my disicion on having the surgery. Dr. Eric has a wonderful personality. He was very serious about the surgery and the risks, but he also had a great sense of humor which I also liked. We met with him the end of Aug. and I just got approved with my insurance a couple weeks ago. The insurance wasn't denied, they we're just slow and wasn't detailed enough in the approval letter, so they had to write a more detailed letter. This was good, so the clinic and I are both protective. The staff was very friendly. I like that many of them have had the surgery. Dr. Eric really expressed the after care. The clinic has an after care program that he said is excellent and I look forward to using it. I'm having my surgery Dec. 7, 2004. I'm looking very forward to my surgery and new healthier life. I will post more feedback after my surgery. I give Dr. Eric a 100% positive feedback so far.

he came across as knowing what I wanted and having the best personaly. It never changed. The staff was great they, themself went through this too, so if you need help they were there..nothing he was fine.
His compason and friendlyness is true....
After care is number one with Eric,he wants you to reach your goal and he is there 100 percent.. Yes he dose have a plan for after care.but you are allso the one who knows your limits and if you want to reach your goal it's up to you.
With the risks he was very open and upfront about them.
I give him a 9.9 on the scale...no one is a 100 percent
all of them,,,,

Dr. Vaughn was wonderful. He answered 95% of my questions before I even asked them. He made me feel so comfortable and I knew that everything would be ok. Before and after my surgery, I still know I made the right decision.

My husband and I were very impressed by Dr. Vaughn. He immediatly put both of us at ease and proceeded to explain the pros and cons of my surgery. I had at least 20+ questions written down to ask him, but by the time he was done talking he had answered all of them.

My first impression of Dr Vaughn was that he was a great doctor. The intial appointment I was very concerned but just talking to him made me so comfortable and all of concerns were gone. I feel that the staff at the Barix Clinic is awesome, they make you feel so good and comfortable. The one think that I think sets them apart fromt the rest is the fact that most of the staff has had the surgery. What I think that patients need to know about him is that he is a great person and that just being in his presense, you know you are in good hands. How he addrss the risks of surgery is that he was up front and honest with you, he made you feel that no question was a dumb question and he answered all of your concerns with caring and kindness. I would not go to another physican even if I had to pay out of pocket the whole cost I would just to go to the Barix Clinic.

My first impression of Dr. Vaughn was he is very attractive. Once I was able to get beyond his looks, I saw a down to earth, professional, knowledgeable, and compationate man. He was very attentive to my question, and concerns. Dr. Vaughn made it very clear that the surgery would be a tool for my weight loss as he stressed the importance of aftercare. A year later(surgery day), as I layed on the operating table contemplating getting up and walking out, Dr. Vaughn came in to speak with me just before the procedure offering words of comfort which calmed my nerves and most importantly put me at ease with what I was about to encounter. AT THAT POINT, I KNEW I WAS IN GOOD HANDS!!!! Each encounter I've had with Dr. Vaughn since the surgery(hospital stay, follow ups) were just as pleasant as my first. NO COMPLAINTS!! I am glad Dr. Vaughn was able to be apart of my life change.

This was our first meeting with Dr. Vaughn. Dr. Vaughn came across as very competant and self assured. He never rushed the meeting, and took time to tell us about the procedure and answer all of our own questions. We feel at this time he knows exactly what he is doing and takes great care in letting you know he wants the best for you. He does stress the importance of aftercare and that this is a lifestyle change forever. And that we will speak to a Dietitian as of yet I do not know what is encluded in aftercare, except for 3 visits with him after the surgery procedure, one week, two weeks and 1 month.
I do hope there is alot more support.
