Eric Bour Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My first impression of Dr. Bour was that he is truly cared about the well being of his patients. As I got to know him more that definately did not change. He is very thorough, meticulous, and overall a very nice person. The office staff is always very friendly and helpful. His program is designed to have you very informed before and after surgery. You not only cover the physical expectations, but the mental and emotional as well.

The following comments are my personal opinions only. I would like to share my experience with others. I think Dr. Bour is an excellent surgeon who really cares about his patients. I've met and talked with him twice thus far and I'm very, very impressed with him. He is not only professional, but also very caring. He has an excellent pre and post surgical program. His staff are excellent and very caring people. I think his program is the best I've ever seen! I am learning so much in the pre-surgical classes and I know the post-surgical will be just or even more beneficial to my new lifestyle! Aftercare is a BIGGIE here at Bariatric Solutions. You MUST attend your pre and post op classes - it's MANDATORY! The entire program is geared toward your success with this surgery! They really do care what happens to you! My rating would be a 10 - the best! I think it is important for your surgeon to have both surgical competence and bedside manners. Dr. Bour covers both with extreme proficiency! Oh, and Dr. Bour did address the surgical risks. He also allowed me to ask any questions that I had and he answered them in full. He took his time with me and did not make me feel that I was being rushed. This was very important to me also.

10/24/03 - I had surgery 10/14 with Dr. Bour. In the months prior to surgery I have spent a lot of time on this website, looking at peoples pictures, reading their journals and looking at comments about surgeons. I suggest that you do the same and research different Drs and their programs. If you have selected Dr. Bour and are awaiting surgery, you have selected a great Dr and his staff. Each time I meet with them, I am more impressed. If you have questions or concerns, they are just a phone call away. He has a great aftercare program and as he told me on my follow up yesterday 'I want to see my patients succeed, I want to hear how none of their clothes fit anymore'.

Dr Bours office and program are strict. But that is what I like. We have new stomachs and they have a healing process to go through. It is a slow progression to solid food. But you will not be hungry and that makes it easier. I am shocked that there are no industry standards for the after care of patients that have this surgery. But if there were, Dr. Bour would be meeting it.

By the way I lost 21 pounds in 10 days!

I met with Dr. Bour today for my one on one. I had already heared so many great things about him so I was'nt that nervous. He answered all my questions. He really cares for his patients and his office staff treats us as real human beings, with feelings. I was not rushed in and out. He made sure that I understood everything. His office staff is also great. Dr. Spearman, Katie Myers, Susan, and both Kim's. They are all the greatest. I could'nt have picked a better Surgeon. He has a great before and after program and he is very strict with this surgery. He is not a drive by Dr. You really get the best care before and after. If you are looking for a great Surgeon this is him. Check him out! I have now started my insurance approval.

Met my surgeon and staff and Im very impressed with his office. He has a great support program before and after surgery. I feel like I will be in great care and feel like his staff is very caring and does not make me feel like Im just a number. I will recommend his office to anyone that I come across. I will update more after my surgery. I think his staff if very caring and understanding of our needs. They are so nice and respectful and give you that feeling like you've just run into an "old friend".

I have felt very comfortable with Dr Bour, he is very caring. I liked him from the begining. He is very funny. My husband also liked him, he thought he was very informative also. The staff has been wonderful and very helpful.

So far I have not found anything I don't like about him. I liked the fact that he sat and talked with me. I also liked the fact that he answered his email, I had sent him a question and he answered me. He also ask me when he saw me the next time if I had received his answer. That made me feel like I was just not another number, I have been to some doctors that they could care less, Dr Bour did not make me feel that way.

I have ask several people about him and he has an excellent reputation. My family Dr said he has sent many patients to him for other surgies because he is one of the best in town with a laprascope. I am the first patient of my General Practioner that is having this done locally and he seems very excited for me. He said he had been copied on everything that Dr Bour has done.

They have a very strict after care program
Dr Spearman is also very nice and very easy to talk to. The support meetings have been very helpful to me. I have met a lot of great people. We have all became like family.

I had my first group session to meet Dr. Bour. From all accounts he seems to be very, very nice. Has a wonderful sense of humor. After working all day, he came and did a 2 hour presentation and had a lot of patience. I have my first one-on-one session with Dr. Bour April 26th. I'm looking forward to it.

Dr.Bour is extremely involved with his patients. I have the utmost respect and like him alot. That has not changed with the follow up care. We have support meetings with his associate Dr. Spearman and he too is wonderful. I have referred three people to him and I would do it all again if I had to. Barbra Redanz, RN

I am very impressed with Dr. Bour and his program.He is very intersted in you and will talk to you as long as you have any questions.He is in partnership with Dr. Spearman,who is a psychologist and he is also aaa big help along with the nutricianist and dietician. I am very pleased with Dr. Bour and I don't think I could find another doctor any better.The office staff is very knowledgeble.Dr. Bour says he will be my doctor for life after the surgery. I will have to attend post op classes aand see the doctor at kleast once a month for a year.Dr Bour's surgical competence and bedside manner are both great.
