I really like Dr. Bour and his program. He has an outstanding program. Every week at support group meeting I am impressed with his staff and all the information I learn in meetings. rnThe thing I liked the least was the waiting list. He is so good that he is kept booked months in advance. Future patients need to have reasonable expectations. He does not perform drive through surgery. There are psychological tests, meetings with a psychologist, meetings with a nutritionist and pre-tests done to ensure that it is safe for you to have this surgery. Aftercare is absolutely emphasized but is not the only consideration with Dr. Bour. You have to take classes prior to being scheduled for surgery. If you don't take the classes you don't get the surgery. He wants to make sure that everyone knows exactly what they are getting into and what to do in any situation. There is a carefully structured aftercare program and classes that are mandatory. Dr. Bour is very knowledgeable and I have spoken with several of his patients to ask them questions as well. They all speak very highly of him. HE explains everything to you and you are SOOOO INFORMED!! I'll update more after surgery. :)

I met Dr. Bour at an informational meeting and I was blown away! What attention to detail...I immediately went and signed up for an enrollment appointment!

I liked Dr. Bour from the start. I feel like he is upfront and cares for his patients. He has a wonderful lifetime post -op program, that helps keep his patients on track. His office staff is great. I personally believe Dr. Bour is one of the best, if not the best ,surgeon in the upstate of SC. Overall he has the best WLS program available, is most competent in WLS and has a pleasant bedside manner. He can be stern when needed, but , as long as you follow what he tells you., you will not see that side of him. Dr. B knows best!

All I can say is WOW. Dr. Bour and I went through a lot with this change and surgery. He got frustrated with me however, in the end it all worked out. I'm 11 pounds away from goal and had the surgery 8months ago. Surgery has given me the confidence I need and I feel great. The staff is awesome.

Dr. Bour was wonderful. I appreciate all of the help and support that I have received from Bariatric Solutions in Greenville, SC. I believe that Dr B has the most comprehensive before and after surgery support system. He stays current with what is happening and makes changes that will benefit future patients. My husband had the same surgery 3 1/2 years ago and there have been some changes that will benefit me and those who come after me. I think that the key to my success will be to take advantage of the aftercare support sessions. Dr Bore has done his part, now it is up to me to do mine. rnThe only issue that I had was due to an insurance gaff which caused a delay in my paperwork. As soon as we realized that something was not right, the forms were resubmitted and I was on my way!rnYou should know that Dr Bore is serious about what he does. He expects for his patients to follow the program as he has designed it. If you follow the program, you will lose the weight. He will be honest about the risks involved. I think that he is one of the best surgeons in the country. There is no better bariatric surgeon- and he has a good bedside manner- just don't ask for anything to drink before the swallow test- cause you are not going to get it!!

Dr. Bour was totally professional when we first met. A friend had her WLS done by him about 3 years ago and couldn't say enough about his program. I went to an information session about 9 years ago, but I guess it just wasn't my time and I never followed up. He was very patient in answering every question that was asked and explained all options, successes and failures. His after-care program stresses that you are his patient for life. I like that I can contact him anywhere down this road I'm on and him or his staff will be available.

I had met him years before at work, he is very dirct and firm but I like that a lot, His staff is great, it is getting bigger now that they are a part of the ghs system, so it is not quite as personal. Dr Bour tells us he is our Doctor for life and I appreciate that! I trust him and listen to him and appreciate his candor and honestly. I would and have reccommend him to everyone who asks.rn

I hope people will read reviews of people who actually have chosen Dr. Bour as their surgeon, rather than those who have decided for one reason or another to go elsewhere. No one is a good match for every person. Dr. Bour and his staff were the right match for me and hundreds of others.rnrnDr. Bour is extremely knowledgeable, vastly experienced, and has hired great employees who know their stuff and give you the support you need. It could be that some folks do not like to know the negatives going into surgery, whether it be the possible physical risks, psychological issues, or the finances involved (yes, it costs money). I knew *everything* I needed to know going in, and as I progress, I have had all the information I needed every step of the way. His program is very structured so that you are well-prepared before surgery and well-supported all the way through. You are his patient for life. Dr. Bour is very caring, has a great sense of humor, and is strict when he has to be, because he *cares* about you as a person. Dr. Russell, the psychologist, is great, caring, and always available. The insurance/billing staff has been extremely helpful; they got my approval in less than 12 hours and have even gotten me a refund for prepaid expenses my insurance ended up covering. The nutritionists will take calls or visits at any time for questions or evaluating your food plans. The nutrition store is awesome -- Dr. Bour has a chef on staff who has had WLS surgery himself, and he prepares totally awesome purees and plated meals, all premeasured and so tasty I feel I am treating myself.rnrnI met someone in the nutrition store who was a week out of surgery and wandering around, not knowing what she should be eating. She was full of questions. I discovered she had gone to a different surgeon. I felt bad for her. No one in Dr. Bour's practice will ever feel that way. If you choose to ignore all the information they provide to you ahead of surgery, they will cancel it until they know you are ready. rnrnMy total experience has been nothing but amazing, and I owe it to the fantastic network Dr. Bour has set up and to the confidence everyone at his office has given me to succeed.

Wow . . . What can I say about Dr. Bour? My consultation with him was the best. I now feel totally at ease going into surgery. My first impression of him during the information session was a good one. He seemed very detail oriented. (You want that in a surgeon! ha ha). He was also very personable and extremely confident and knowledgeable of the procedures and statistics.rnrnAfter my consultation with him, I was just blown away at his concern for me. He answered even my silliest questions thoughtfully and completely. He wasn't in a hurry to get things done and go on to the next patient. He looked me in the eye. (Which doesn't happen much in my experience with the medical professionals.) Again, I feel very confident, and trust him completely. He is definitely a man with a plan! One in which I will follow to the last letter!
