'I'd highly recommend Dr. Gould. Before surgery

avatar

Dr David Gould, his interns, PA, Nurses and staff, are caring, open and knowledgable. I have had a wonderful and supportive experience dealing with everyone. I would reccomnd the program at Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic Manchester to anyone thinking of embarking on this journey.

I give him and his staff a perfect 10!!!

Thank you Dr Gould, Eric, Dan, Sue, Linda, Leslie, all the Staff in General Surgery and @ Elliot Hospital! I put myself in your caring hands and you went above and beyond all expectations. ((((hugs)))

He was kind of quiet, but very nice and knowledgable.

It really didn't change. When we talked, I was impressed with his coverage of the surgery, both benefits and risks, his answers to my questions, and his very positive attitude.

His PA's, nurses, etc were all very helpful, nice and informative. Sometimes it seemed like it was a hassle when I tried to get past the admin staff, but if I was willing to leave a message, there was rarely a problem getting a return call.

There wasn't really anything I didn't like about him.

I was very pleased with my treatment, both before and after the surgery.

The whole program is well set up. There are steps you have to complete both before and after your surgery that you have to do in order to proceed forward and they stick to their guns about it. It may not seem as important before, but afterwards, I was glad I was as prepared as I was.

For aftercare, you meet with the PA, dietician and Surgeon shortly after surgery, at different times during the first month or so. After that, you have appointments a few times a year with the dietician, and then annually you also have appointments with the dietician and the PA. There are also monthly support meetings where you will see some of them at times, so I imagine you would be able to ask them anything you need. I just had surgery, so I don't know how it all works yet.

They have pamphlets and brochures that cover the risks of surgery, and he goes over every one of them with you. Plus it is also covered by the informational meetings in the beginnning, and by the PA when you meet with him before you see the surgeon.

Overall, I was very pleased with Dr. Gould and his staff, and they helped make the whole process go over well.

Both of his competence and bedside manner were great.

He was very nice and very interested in me and what my concerns were. He took the time to answer any and all questions. Most days he actually came out to the waiting room to call me back.

When I went for my four month check-up he was very happy and pleased with my progress and wished me luck with the rest of my journey. I can't wait to go back in August for my one year anniversary.

The office staff was awesome! Everyone treated me with respect not a number. They were patient and understanding with all my concerns, and I was able to email whenever I had a question.

I really liked Dr. Gould. He was friendly and very confident and knowledgable about the proceedure. Unfortunately I've noticed that many others have experienced the same problems with the staff of the Bariatric Surgery department. Loss of paperwork, avoidance of phone calls, not returning messages, and outright rudeness. This is very troubling.

All I can say is that Dr. Gould, Eric Plumley, and the dieticians and nurses are very good and nice people once you progress far enough to actually see them!

Dr. Gould:
My surgeon has been changed to Dr. Gould at the Manchester office of DHMC. I met with him and like him just as much as Dr. Trus. He was very thorough in going over the risks of this surgery. He's quiet at first but really quite personable when you get to know him. Between him, Eric Plumley, the phys. asst. and Celine (I think I have her name right) the nurse, I get all my questions answered quickly and because my PCP is in the same office, they all coordinate my care beautifully!

Dr. Trus:
Very pleasant and easy to talk to. Office staff is efficient in all aspects so far. He answered all my questions almost before I even asked them. The information meetings that you are required to go to before meeting the surgeon teaches you the risks involved with the surgery, but he did go over them briefly and then addressed exactly what the operation would entail. Was very open and seemed sincere in all his answers. So far, I'd give him a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10.
