Big Kudos to Dr. Gould. I was recently sleeved at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH. Dr. Gould spoke to me and checked in 3 times....before the procedure, right after to explain things and to tell me his expectations, and how things went, then of course the day of dismissal from the hospital. He is a straight to the point doctor, that really has passion for what he does. I would recommend him to you , if you are thinking of getting one of these "Life-changing" procedures. He is not a distant doctor, he is available if you need to talk to him, and his staff, both at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Manchester, NH and The Elliot, are absolutely wonderful. They never left me alone, not once, seriously, I got no sleep....kidding. They are top of things, and show compassion and are thorough in their duties as medical professionals....I commend Dr. Gould for his doctrinship in this very important portion of lives. Thanks, MYLIFEJOURNEY on website
I don't think I had a first impression of Dr Gould when I saw him at the info meeting. At that point I had seen so many Drs that he was just another face. My mind was whirling with all that I had decieded to do. I have found myself very appreciative of him. One of the first Drs to take time to listen to me and my request, and the reason for it. Amazing, usally it is their way or noway. My surgery begining so close to Christmas I am not sure about all the after care stuff. I know I needed to get home and probably told him anything to get out. I would rather have a Dr with surgical competence than a great bedside manner, but I think Dr Gould has both. I was a risk for the operation and he left no rock unturned to make sure all would be ok. Thank you Dr Gould
Dr Gould and his staff have been nothing but stellar in their performance. Dr Gould has a quiet, calm demeanor and a great bedside manner. He was able to answer any question that I aked as well as any question from the audience during the informational meetings at DHMC. His staff is excellent and they provide great support before, during and after the surgery.
When I first met Dr. Gould at an informational meeting at DHMC, I thought he was a very quiet man. But as I attended more meetings I realized how caring and informative he really is. His staff, all of them are just wonderful. When it was time for my one on one meeting with him to schedule the surgery, he spent time with me to make sure all my questions were answered and put my fears to rest. The whole office is incredibly supportive. They make sure everything is covered at the informational meetings, which I highly recommend. And the aftercare post-op support meeetings are much more intimate and structured than the other one I have attended at CMC. If anyone ever asked me about WLS, I would say this is the doctor and program to go to.

My first impression of Dr. Gould came when he presented at the first informational meeting I attended. He came off very shy and "clinical". When I met him in person he was very easy to talk to, very caring and made me feel like I was the only patient he had while he was with me. I was very nervous just prior to my surgery, but when he came and talk to me he really put me at ease. I was pleasantly surprised to see him the second day I was in the hospital, as I had already seen his PA earlier in the morning. A very nice, caring man. One thing that I wish were easier would be to have a direct line to someone on the bariatric team. You have to call and be transferred, many times needing to leave a message. Most of the office staff is very friendly and helpful. I did have one "hiccup" that I felt could have been better handled (ie, not threatening to cancel my surgery because I asked to change the date of a test) but I quickly worked that out. Thanks Dr. Gould.
