My first impression of Dr Ferrari was good. I had a huge list of questions which he answered in good detail. He has wonderful credentials, great reviews-both at amos and the surgery review boards. His office was very efficiant. I love his nurse Blanca. I felt very comfortable with Dr Ferrari and his staff. If I have any advice it would be to have questions ready for him. It's the best way to educate yourself about how he does wls. When I asked if he had a support group he said use the internet, and asked what kind of support I had at home. After I answered him, Dr Ferrari said you don't need another support group. I had all kinds of questions about complications and I think he has the knowlege to deal with any should they arise.I did alot of research on Dr Ferrari before I called for an appointment. Meeting him solidified my decision to choose him as my surgeon.
I had a very thorough meeting with Dr. Ferrari as I came with 80 questions. He is a quiet, unassuming man with a gentle demeanor. He has a structured aftercare program. He explained all the risks thoroughly. Of course I am basing my opinion on meeting him once. I will meet with him again once I am finally approved and have a surgery date.
His staff is very friendly - esp. my counselor, Claudia. She had the surgery and is doing well. He also has a Patient Advocate Group that fights for our rights with the insurance companies.
I failed to mention anything about my surgeon, Dr. Ferrari on my initial entry. He has a very dry bedside manner, but he is an excellent surgeon with over 20 years of bariatric surgical experience. He doesnt have a lot to say, but what he does say is informative and straightforward.
I was introduced to Dr. Ferrari by the clinic that facilitated my insurance approval, NuWeigh. Their office is filled with friendly, informed, and understanding staff. Many of whom are former WLS patients. So they are all too familiar with a new patient's struggles, and pitfalls.
There is an aftercare program, but since I live in Dallas, and the office is in Houston, it is rare that I get down there to see them. I am currently late for my annual visit. Overall, I would definitely encourage anyone in the area looking for a competent surgeon to look them up. They were a Godsend!
The first time I met Dr. Ferrari and his staff I was very impressed, so friendly, caring and courteous.
The staff is wonderful, and I know they are very busy but I just kind of felt that I wasn't important and they may just be due to the the high volume of patients Dr. Ferrari has. I think they need to treat each patient as if they were the only patient they have.
I do have to admit that in spite of their volume and everytime I called they are always pleasant.
Surgery date: April 24, 2003
I am very impressed with Dr. Ferrari and his staff at Neweigh.
I still love Dr. Ferrari and his staff.
Neweigh is an office made up of only bariatric post-operative patients. All of his staff has had the surgery and I think that is fantastic.
I like everything about Dr. Ferrari.
Know that he is knowledgable, friendly, confident, down to earth & a wealth of information. Your before and after care is well thought out and planned.
Dr. Ferrari does a lot of after care including, office visits, phone calls & support groups.
Yes, the aftercare program is wonderful and makes me feel very safe & confident about the surgery and the process.
He was upfront and honest about the risks of surgery, but reassured you by letting you know how much experience he has in this field and that nothing should go wrong.
Dr. Ferrari is a 10 and nothing less.
Both are great. He is a real person to the point where you forget he is a doctor, but very confident in his work and it shows.
Of course, these are just my personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am not making any statements about what other people may experienc. You always need to form your own opinion.
Dr. Ferrari was very cool and calm. His daminer set me at ease at once. His staff is incredable bussy and seam overworked. I do not think there was anything I disliked about the doc or the staff. well I will see about aftercare after tuesday.I had to read a very long and scary surgery risk sheet. I then spoke with the doc regarding the risk verses the long turm risks of being overweight.I will let you know about bed side manner.
