I Like Dr Naaman, he explained the surgery. Ask if I had any questions. His staff was great, explain how my paper work would be sent into my insurance companys.

I was very pleased by my surgeon and would recomend him to anyone.his office staff is excellent. After a small problem occured during the operation and the time I spent in the hospital Dr. Naaman was excellent. The thing that I like least and most are the same if you have something of to ask him ask him and if you do not ask he will not tell most of the time. his aftercare program is very structured and he emphasizes it dramatically. the risks of surgery where addressed completley if you asked. Me being a talker it was easy for me to get the information that I wanted. If you are timid or even shy then you will have trouble getting every thing answered. but as far as bedside manner he would come by two to three times a day to check on me.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. NAAMAN IS THAT HE IS NOT VERY FRIENDLY, BUT I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A FRIEND AM I, ONLY A GOOD SURGEON, AND I FEEL CONFIDENT HE IS ONE OF THE BEST. HIS OFF STAFF IS GOOD ESPECIALLY BERNICE SHE IS REALLY SWEET. I HAVE PRE-OPP APPT. NEXT THURSDAY THE 29TH . THEN SURGERY THE NEXT MONDAY. HE DOES NOT HAVE A STRUCTURED AFTER CARE PROGRAM BUT I HAVE A CHOICE OF SEVERAL SUPPORT GROUPS IN MY AREA SO THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM FOR ME. LIQUID DIETS FOR 6 WEEKS, I HEAR THAT IS A LITTLE ROUGH
HE STRESSES ALL OF THE RISK THAT COME WITH THE SURGERY. I WOULD RATE HIM OVER ALL A 8, BUT WILL UPDATE AFTER MY APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK

Ok update on DR Naaman, I would reccomend him to anyone, he is very direct and expects you to follow his instructions to the T, but I could see a caring side of him also. I had a infection at drain site and had to go back in hospital for 2 days, they had me in express admitting for starting IV and all they told my Doc there was no bed for me and he said oh really and was back in 5 mins with room and bed #. I feel he took very good care of me and he is a good surgeon

Dr. Naaman is a very nice, quiet, professional. I emailed him a question, and received a phone call the very next day from Bernice (his office manager). They faxed me over all the preliminary paperwork, I filled it in and faxed it back. I had an appointment within 10 days. His staff covers all the bases, and works hard to see that insurance approves on the first try. I am so impressed that every staff member knows my name and really seems to care about me. If I had to say something I didn't like, it would be that Dr. Naaman really doesn't volunteer a lot of information, but he will sit and answer every question you want to ask. When you go to see him, take a list of questions you have, and keep asking until you get them all answered. Dr. Naaman does not have an aftercare program. My best interpretation is that his basic idea is that you obviously could not follow a strict diet program all these years or your would not be obese, so he does not give you a lot of do's and don'ts. He is emphatic about walking 7 days a week, and staying on liquids for the first 6 weeks after surgery, then 6 weeks of soft solids, but no calories or protein grams to count. I would rate him a 10. I have already referred more than 3 of my friends to him. He is a terrific surgeon, and a very nice man. In my experience I found that in his office you are an individual, and you don't have to wait months to get taken care of. Go see him, I believe you'll be glad you did.

I had my first appointment on May 8th. I was impressed with the paperwork that was filled out by me proir to obtaining an appointment.
He is very straight forth, and expects you to do your part in order for his surgery to be a success. He makes you aware that this is only a step in order to obtaining a new, happy life, and that he can help you, but not do it all for you.
His staff are wonderful, caring, and very helpful. I was late for my first appointment (I STILL get lost going there) and I was afraid they would reschedule me, but they saw me anyways.
His office is very "fat friendly" from everything to the chairs in the waiting room, to the scale, to the rooms and gowns.
Dr. Naaman didn't cringe when I pulled out my list of questions, but patiently answered every one. (at any appointment I had, even when I was in the hospital and under the influence of drugs).
The only part that I didn't like was in the follow up after care support, but Dr. Naaman told me he would tell me what I need to do in order for this to work.
I had to have a second surgery for some vascular problems a week after my gastric surgery, and Dr. Naaman also did this surgery. He is very conservative as well as a gifted surgeon. I am a nurse, and I worked for a surgeon for 7 years, and I would
rate Dr. Naaman and his office staff exceptional. If anyone would like to talk to me or be a buddy, please email me and I will help you all I can.

Dr. Naaman is Awesome. His staff is the most caring group of individuals I have ever met in the medical community. They are always more than willing to answer my questions and they return calls promptly!!! Dr. Naaman does not have an aftercare program, but he is good about laying out his rules and telling you that if success is your plan then you will follow his and if you do not care about success then basically do not waste his or your own time. He is also big on making sure you have support at home. I would not change doctors for the world, Dr. Naaman is the BEST!!!!!

My first visit with Dr. Naaman. I was over 30 minutes late because I got lost in Houston. However, Dr. Naaman and his wonderful staff (Amanda, Bernice, Pam, and Theresa) welcomed me. The office smells so peaceful with a Vanilla scent.
Dr. Naaman is a kind and serious doctor and I am very confident in having him as my surgeon.

I had my first consultation with Dr. Kasper yesterday and came away feeling very excited about having the surgery. He is a very intelligent man and like everyone has said, he REALLY spends a lot of time talking about the psycological and emotional aspects of eating and overeating. We sat in his office and talked for almost an hour before he examined me. My only complaint at this time was that his staff kept calling him on the phone and he would stop and talk to them. Those interruptions were distracting. I was so overwhelmed that I forgot to ask most of my questions so I suggest you write them down. I am now at the stage of getting insurance approval - wish me luck!

SURGEON UPDATE:
I'm switching to Dr. Naaman because Dr. Kasper only does VBG and I've decided against that procedure and prefer the LAP RNY instead. I have my first appt. with him on 8/7. Will post more at that time.

8/7/01:
I met with Dr. Naaman today and everything looks good. I felt really confident with him and I'm glad I made the decision to switch to him. He said I was the perfect candidate for LAP since I've already had it before the remove my gall bladder. His office staff were very nice and helpful and they took the time to explain to me what the next steps would be and what to expect. Now, I play the waiting game again for insurance approval.

Have not met Dr. Naaman yet. First appointment is on Sept. 6 2001 10 a.m. From everyone I talk to, he is great. I have spoken with Bernie at Dr. Naaman's office several times. She is very helpful and nice.
