I like Dr. Staerkel very much. She is very down to earth, gives you a realistic picture about post op life and is fairly no-nonsense.I found her to be quite caring and she paid a good deal of attention to me pre and post op. She took a good deal of time speaking with me and my husband preop and post op. She only has one person in her office to assist her, I found that you need to be responsible and make sure your paperwork etc has been submitted on your behalf - to make sure it gets done. I was the 2nd person Dr. S operated on for WLS, so I think she paid a bit more attention to me than normal. The program is still under development, but they did a fine job of explaining post op stuff. I highly recommend Dr. Staerkel, she treats you like a person.
