I started these immediately post-op and have been taking them for almost 10 years. Something changed with their service and have only been able to get 2 months supply if over a year. Had to choose a different source. I would not recommend them to anyone because of the lousy service.
(indicates that they have used the product)My vitamins from day 1 post op. I started with chewables until month 3. Month 3 I moved to the capsules and it was much easier. I have always had GREAT labs and have never been told I was lacking in anything. I did however, get kidney stones, and cut back my vitamins to 1/2 serving per day, or 1 pkg instead of 2. It cut my calcium in 1/2 and my labs are still good, so no harm, no foul and great labs!!
Best vitamins in my opinion on the market for WLS patients. Don't trust your health to cartoon characters...it always amazes me that people will go through this surgery and not put the best vitamins in their bodies that they can find!! ??? It drives me nuts that they then have problems, need extra this, extra that, and these are one capsule does it all....no need for extra pills!!
Review on the chewables - the taste is icky. They are gritty and stick to the teeth. I told my nutritionist that I had started on them and she was not impressed. She felt the iron value was too low and taking 5 times a day just not that realistic. In the end she was right- I can remember to take the vite's once or twice a day but five times to keep my levels up has been a challenge. I'm switching over to liquids to see if I'm more successful.
(indicates that they have used the product)It's not the vitamins you are taking, it is the vitamins you are ABSORBING. These vitamins are specifically made for easier absorption. Go to http://www.bariatriceating.com/ and read more...
(indicates that they have used the product)Although these tast horrible, it is nice to know with 5 of these a day, I am getting all the vitamins I need. I tried taking all my different vitamins seperately at first and it was very time consuming and more expensive. I would recommend these to anyone early post-op. They also come in capsules for the further along post-ops.
(indicates that they have used the product)I like VistaVitamins. All-around, I do feel better taking them. I feel energized. However, manoman, they are pricey. I will take them for the first year, but then I will find a different vit and buy my minerals seperatly. Why do products that are made for WLS patients HAVE to be so much money? I guess it's the ole' got us over a barrel deal.
