Dr. Katzen is the only surgeon I ever considered for my reconstructive surgery needs after losing 129 lbs. He is a huge supporter of the WLS community, he is an artist when it comes to nip, tuck & fluff and he is a very kind, gentle & attentive man. He made my flat tummy perfect & I have curves like a Barbie doll! He made the fullness in my chest perfectly perfect too. When I see him, I want to hug him. Forever thankful for his skills & care.

My name is Rebecca Walmann, I am 23 years old, and I have lost a total of 167 pounds after having Lap Band surgery four years ago. Although I constantly exercised and ran five times a week, even after I lost the weight I was always reminded that I was a formerly obese person because of the excess skin I was left with. I tried not to let my excess skin hold me back, but in reality it held me back mentally and in the clothes that I could wear. I could see my excess stomach skin through my clothes and I hated it. Although I was so proud of myself for losing the weight, I didn’t feel pretty, and hated the way I looked in clothes and out of them.

I met Dr. Katzen at the WLSFA event in Las Vegas in May of 2012, and KNEW that he was my reconstructive plastic surgeon within seconds of meeting him. His bedside manner is bar none and his skill is the best in the business (in my humble opinion…seriously…have you seen what he can do?). He had a way of making me feel so comfortable, was so reassuring, and made me excited for the thoughts of a new, beautiful body that I knew he could deliver. I scoured his website before (and after) meeting him and could not BELIEVE the dramatic transformations he gave his patients. I had to book with him.

I had my first surgery with him that December. I had a brachioplasty (arm lift) as well as a breast lift with augmentation (implants). After this surgery I was happy, but incomplete… I needed my stomach done, too. A year and a half later, I finally got the surgery I have always wanted: a 360 body lift. I flew to Los Angeles from Kansas to have my surgery with him on May 7, 2014.

I now say this was the second best decision of my life…the first was losing weight, the 360 body lift surgery was the second. Dr. Katzen has absolutely changed my life and I am forever thankful for his skill and the way he treats his patients. I am beyond thrilled with the flat tummy that he gave me and the adorable belly button that I now have, which was a concern of mine. I finally look like I have a normal body, which is how I was supposed to look all along. This surgery has raised my self-esteem tenfold. I often find myself emotional when I look at pictures or look in the mirror because I am so happy with the changes. The transformation is so dramatic and I finally am starting to feel beautiful.

Since I am an out of state patient, I stayed in a local hotel for two weeks with my mom after my surgery. Even from 1,500 miles away he is still communicating with me for post op care, makes me feel so reassured with any questions I may have, and is here for me at any time. Dr. Katzen’s care for his patients is something you will not find anywhere else. You just won’t.

How can you thank someone for changing your life completely around? Although it’s *just* skin, the removal of it makes all the difference. Thank you Dr. Katzen + team for changing my life. I could not be happier with my new body! I really do have a Body By Katzen, and one that I am incredibly proud of. Now…where’s my bikini? ?

When I had my weight loss surgery back in July 2011 I knew that excess skin was going to be a part of my journey. I tried creams and wraps but nothing was going to help my skin that had been stretched out for over 20 years.
I first met Dr Katzen at the WLSFA Meet & Great in Las Vegas in 2012. I told him my areas of concern (arms, breast, stomach and thighs). I also told him that I wanted to do it in one summer because I was a preschool teacher. He told me it would be a hard summer but worth it, and he was correct!

In the summer of 2013 I had two sets of surgeries:
1st 360 lower body lift and medial thigh lift
2nd brachioplasty and breast lift with augmentation.

I am extremely happy with Dr Katzen's work and how his staff handles the office. They are courteous, carrying, sweet and always attentive to a patients needs.
Dr Katzen and his staff were very understanding and accommodating when I made last minute changes to my breast lift (adding the augmentation).
Some had asked if I would do it again... I most definitely would, no doubt!
My weight loss surgery set me free from potential health problems, but Dr Katzen and his team set my BODY free and let me see the real me under all that skin!

I corresponded with about a dozen surgeons, met with five in person, continued into full consultations with three, and this was all just to make me feel better about what I knew from the second I met him... Dr. Katzen was my surgeon. He understood what was important to me, he's extraordinarily skilled, he never once treated me like an object, he never condescended to me. His staff was friendly and responsive, his facilities clean and professional. If you're even thinking about this type of surgery, you need to at least meet him in person.

Life-changing doesn't even begin to describe the influence Dr. Katzen has had on my life. After 3 years of diet and exercise I managed to lose around 150 lbs. I would buy dresses and shorts to wear once I hit my weight goal after all my hard work. But then again, I never imagined that I would be plagued by loose skin that would keep me in my pants and long sleeved shirts. After seeing other patients mention his name on a blog site with good reviews, and then seeing “The Real Skinny”, I knew he was the physician that was able to give me what I wanted. Living out of state was no challenge. After the very first phone conference I already had a trust established with this physician and for once a glimpse of hope. Staff was very helpful in setting up phone conferences, appointments, pre-op instructions, places to stay, after care etc. Although I was initially nervous about having my first surgery, the efficiency of the staff and Dr. K’s approach put my mind at ease, I wasn’t even nervous about the second. I had a medial thigh lift, upper and lower body lift, breast lift and augmentation, and redo bilateral brachioplasty split into 2 surgeries. The recovery is hard, and Dr. Katzen truthfully informs you of this. However, with his support, the staff support, and many pain pills, I did have a positive experience. My life has changed drastically since my surgeries. I finally have the confidence in my body that matches my personality and attitude. I am so thankful for what Dr. Katzen has done for me. My only regret is not doing this sooner.

I first became aware of Dr. Katzen right after I had my RNY gastric bypass surgery through ObesityHelp.com. Once I hit my goal weight I realized that I had a serious issue regarding excess skin. I decided to attend one of his seminars. I was nervous and was extremely apprehensive at first. But once I met him I knew that he was going to do my procedure. Dr. Katzen is one of the most unselfish, caring, patient and skilled doctor's that I have ever met. His devotion to our community is unprecedented. I cannot recommend him enough. I personally do not have the vocabulary to express my utter thanks to this man.

Dr. Katzen has the best bed side manner of any doctor I have ever met. I have always felt comfortable and at ease when talking with him, and he has always taken the time to listen to my concerns. I truly tested Dr. Katzen when I walked into his office crying uncontrollably after my anchor cut tummy tuck. He spent extra time with me explaining why I was feeling that way, and coming up with a different plan to help my pain level. I have to admit I was embarrassed going back for my next appt but he once again put me at ease and explained that sometimes that happens and that is why he has us come in so he can keep us comfortable and at ease. WoW is all I can say. I am blessed to have had Dr. Katzen as my surgeon and if I have anymore procedures I plan on doing them with him.

P.S. Jackie is wonderful too. I have bugged her to death with all my questions and she has always answered them and encouraged me to call anytime I have concerns or questions. ;)

Wow, what a great experience! My choice in choosing Dr Katzen was a wonderful one! In one word "Trust"! For in trusting myself to make the life changing choice to do my surgery, it gave me the courage to trust in the best surgeon I have ever had. Dr. Katzen and team has physically transformed my body into the woman I have always wanted to be! Taking this step in my life has further encouraged me to be the best I have ever been! In July 2010 I had gastric bypass. It took me 15 months to lose 130 lbs. The way my body looked after the weight loss didn’t make me very happy. I had a lot of loose skin and decided that after all I had already gone through, I wanted a body I was happy with. I found Dr. Katzen in January of 2012. He was the sixth surgeon I had met with and I knew instantly he was the one. I made my appointment for my first surgery the next month. I’m from Colorado and so I decided to have the 360 bodylift and the medial thigh lift at the same time to minimize the number of trips I would have to make to California. I am now 14 weeks out from my surgery and I couldn’t be happier. I would recommend this surgery to anyone who isn’t happy with their excess skin and how they look. Dr. Katzen, thank you so much for everything you have done for me! You are the best!
