Tug Miller has been a surgeon with Utah Surgical Associates (previously named Southwest Surgical Associates) since 1997. Prior to starting with Utah Surgical, Dr. Miller served as active duty military in the US Army as well as in the Utah Army National Guard.
Dr. Miller is well diversified in the procedures performed by our general surgeons. Since 1997, he’s performed well over 300 surgeries annually and is called upon regularly by referring and emergency care physicians to utilize his expertise in regards to the health and surgical candidacy of a patient. Utilizing the experience from over 4500 surgeries performed during his career at Utah Surgical, Dr. Miller works hard to choose the path that gives his patients the best opportunity for a full recovery as well as allow that patient to manage his/her lifestyle.

Dr. Miller attended the University of Utah Medical School and graduated in 1992. Following medical school, he completed his residency at UCSF/Fresno in Fresno, California. He became Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1999 and has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1999.
Dr. Miller has completed multiple medical missions to Central and South America and also enjoys volunteering at his church. He and his wife Angela have three children.
