From the first appointment with Dr. Andrei I was made to feel at ease. From his great staff to him as well. I was given all the information needed to make my decision to get the Realize band and never felt pressured in any way. He was always professional and made me feel comfortable. Even after sugery, he and the staff continue to be amazing. It was the best decison I have made to get this surgery and I know I have picked the best surgeon for the job. I even recommended him to a friend who will be getting hers in a few months.

I am a Medical Education professional for many years so when it came to making the decision of weight loss surgery I spent many months researching the various Bariatric Surgeons in my immediate area. I visited each of their offices and attended their individual seminars. From the first telephone call to Dr. Andrei's office I was met with enthusiasm, kindness and most importantly knowledge. Then I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Andrei. He is a careing, professional with a sense of understanding that I have found rare in Surgeons. His Medical background is stellar. His support staff is above expertise. If one person cant answer your query there is another one right there to set you straight. The team cares for you, your family and most importantly your Insurance company.

The process is massive with this knowledgeable and dedicated team are always keeping you in the forefront. You tell me what Drs. office calls you everyday for at least a week after you have returned home from surgery - I am not sure there are too many. His office systems are well thought out with constant updating to keep his office one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of working with. If you are still unsure - just visit another Bariatric Surgery office - you will see for yourself and feel rest assured that Dr.Andrei and Staff are the best out there.

Dr.Andrei and his staff provides world class service. From the first time I called for my initial appointment to my post surgery, they have done everything to educate, accomodate, and give me the assurance that I am in great care. They helped me set up all my doctor appointments and consistantly followed up to ensure I was progressing during the weeks leading up to surgery. They have handled all my insurance paperwork without asking any assistance from me. I met Dr. Anrei on my first vist which truly suprised me. He is extemely informitive and a great listener. He and I spoke on numerous occasions on what surgery would better suit me for what I needed. In the end, I had lap band surgery. I attended pre surgery classes on a monthly basis conducted by Dr. Anrei's staff.
I saved the best for last. Dr. Andrei has the best Nutritionist/Dietition I ever encountered on his staff . She plays a large role in this great experience. The aftercare that she and the rest of the staff is giving me has truly made this journey well worth it. I would recommend anyone thinking of weight loss surgery to go through their journey with Dr. Andrei and his staff.

Dr. Andrei performed my revision surgery in April 2011. Once again, I am proud to say how pleased I am with his patient care both prior to and post surgery. Dr. Andrei and all of his staff are friendly, knowledgable and very accomodating. They completely help each patient through the red tape of insurance coverage and what is needed. Dr. Andrei and his staff know their patients and follow-up regularly. I actually drive approximately 2 hours from my home to see Dr. Andrei and his staff because he is so good. Well worth the drive to have the trust in a great surgeon who cares about his patients. I could not selected a better surgeon for this life changing experience.

My experience with Dr. Valeriu Andrei has been an excellant experience. Dr. Andrei performed a Lap Band Surgery on me on 4/15/11 and he took exceptional care of me pre and post operative. I had special health risks and Dr. Andrei and his staff Andy and Pam could not have be more articulate and caring in their jobs and performance. The rest of the staff Carrie , Shannon, and Sherry , who all helped in making the Surgery a success are wonderful at the jobs also. My experience with Dr. Andrei has been a great one from the start. I had lap-band previously by another doctor and it had to be taken out. My old doctor I felt left me in a bad position after the removal and then someone recommened Dr. Andrei to me. I wish I know of him the first time. This time I had gastric bypass and the surgery was a great success. I am 4 weeks post op and feel great.. The staff at Dr. Andrei's office is very welcoming and helps you so much along the way.. Dr. Andrei will listen to all your concerns and make u feel at ease..

Dr. Andrei is a caring and compassionate person. When you 1st meet him you gain a sense that he cares about you and will take what ever time and energy to explain all information in detail. He has performed gastric bypass on my spouse, sister- in- law and will be performing surgery in the future on my brother in law. My family has full confidence that he is the best choice in this field. We recommend him full heartedly to anyone. He is committed to his patients. Aftercare is handled by his office staff and they regular check on how you are doing after surgery. Vitamins after bypass is critical as well as drinking water and will become part of your routine schedule. In 2004, I had lap band surgery and lost 50 lbs by October 2010 the band prolapse due to weight gain. In March 2011 I had gastric bypass surgery as the band was no longer working for me. I had some difficulty the 1st two weeks after bypass surgery due to having a cold and my asthma being aggravated. I also had a problem with the drain and with all these problems came a 2nd hospitalization due to having an infection and becoming dehydrated. In the end it is all worth it as I have an extensive medical history (stroke, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, underactive thyroid, etc) that was worsening with the weight gain. In looking back at it I would have the gastric bypass originally but I was afraid of the permanency of it. Since my 3-31 surgery I have lost 20 lbs. The decision to have either procedure is a commitment and a life change.

Having this surgery was the best thing I ever done. I'm so happy that I can wear normal size clothes and able to wear heels again also the most important thing I am healther and happy.

Wow! This is truly a life changing experience. Dr. Andrei and his staff are true professionals. I would certainly recommend him over and over again. Since the Gastric Bypass procedure last March 28, 2011 I feel better than ever! Despite the restricted diet, the energy has remain high. At each step of the weight loss process Dr. Andrei and his staff have remain in constant contact with me. Routine appointments were made to fit my schedule. Prior to the surgery I was very concerned and often imagined the worse but it was a lot easier than I thought. Pain was moderate and the care was amazing. I'm so happy to have found such dedicated staff, where I'm not just a number, I'm a patient with a name often remembered. I'm truly grateful to everyone's dedication.

For a very long time I've been struggling, with my weight, in 2008 I started having severe lower back and leg pain, I was diagnosis with 3 herniated disc, and that I need back surgery. I was very upset by that, I did not want to have back surgery. It was suggested by my orthopedic surgeon, Dr Cuomo, maybe to think about Bariatric Surgery. So I stop in one day at St Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center, and pick up a pamphlet regarding bariatric surgery. I gave it some though, and days later I gave Dr Andrei office a call. One months later after, I've had the surgery, I'm feeling great so far I've lost 33 pounds, and more important less back pain. I will be returning to work in 2 weeks, and I will return back and tell you more. Dr Andrei's office staff is great, they are kind, warm heart and generous people.
