Valeriu Andrei Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I learned about Dr. Andrei from my co-worker. She raved about him and his staff. She would constantly get reminders to come into the office for her appointments. Finally, I decided to go. It is the best decision that I made for myself. The visit was very personable. Dr. Andrei is very easy to talk to and he is concern about you. You really get individual service where you actually engages in a conversation about how you are doing and your weight loss plans. I have a great support team, Andy (alwasy calling), Pamela, ny nutritious, shares great tips and of course the staff who knows my name. That is really important to me. I enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and kindess of his staff.

I searched high and low to find a reputable surgeon to perform my revisional procedure. I cannot tell you how happy I feel to have found Dr. Andrai. After going through more than a few challenges 3 years ago when I had my first surgery, I feel confident and assured that I've found the right person. The staff here at Dr. Andrai's office are OUTSTANDING. They are extremely friendly and professional at all times. I'm now in the first steps of what I need to do for my next procedure and feel very confident that I'll be happy with the results.

I had lap band surgery in march and have been getting adjustments since then. Every time i get an adjustment, i am weighed beforehand so that i can keep track of my weight loss. I then meet with both dr. andrei and andy and they adjust my band. They are always very attentive to how i am feeling and they make sure that the band is never too tight. They call later on in the day to check up on how well the food is going down and to make sure that there are no problems. They are always available in case i have a problem and if i do, they make sure to see me right away. I highly recommend dr. andrei because he truly cares about his patients and is committed to helping them become healthy.

When I knew I had to get rid of the weight I asked my GI doctor about Lap Band surgery and he agreed that it was a wonderful option for me and recommended Dr. V. Andrei and I have been a patient for the last 2 1/2 years. The whole experience has been very satisfactory and I would encourage anyone who has suffered with obesity to consider meeting Dr. Andrei and receiving his expert opinon of your situation and I know he will advise you the best course of treatment.

The office staff and doctor are great.

I had lapband surgery just over a year ago. I have made repeat visits to Dr. Andrei's office almost every month. I can't tell you how nice the office staff is and their caring manner is reflective of their boss, my surgeon, Dr. Andrei. I can call any day and get an answer to my questions, the staff always remember me when I arrive and they celebrate my continued weight loss. Dr. Andrei is always concerned and involved with my after care. I didn't believe this level of after care existed. I have been 100% satisfied with my progress to date. I recommend Dr. Andrei to everyone I know who is looking for a positive weight loss experience.

When I first met Dr. Valeriu Andrei at an introduction seminar for bariatric surgery, I found that the he was very knowledgeable and cared about his paitients. Over time I have learned that Dr. Andrei and his staff are well organized in all aspects of my medical care. Dr. Andrei is very meticulous and detailed when preparing the patient and treating the patient. His office appointments are always on time, he is available when you wouldn't expect a doctor to be available. I really feel he has developed his own system to provide the most assistance to his patients through his very detailed and specific plans. His after care support groups are very helpful in keeping you health and diets on track. He addressed the risks of surgery in a very matter of fact way and made it very easy for me to make the decision for band surgery. I would rate Dr. Andrei over all without a doubt 5 stars as well as each member of his staff. His surgical competence and besside manner are both professional and beyond reproach. He has definitely changed my life for the better. I really cannot think of anything negative to say about my overall experience with Dr. Andrei. This was a well supported, well documented, life changing decision that I made and I would not recommend any other doctor for this procedure.

my first visit at dr. andrei's office was a big step for me, i had tried all types of diets but they didn't work for me. i was refer to him by one of his patient who highly recomended me to see him and get surgery. the office staff are all excellent and very friendly, they make you like part of the family and as for the surgery it was better than i expected i had same day surgery (the lap band) and had little discomfort.

If you are considering this type of procedure, you must make a call to Dr. Andrei's office. From the first time you come to the office through the surgery you are treated like you are their only patient. They truly take the time to get to know you and understand what your goals are. They don't force you into any specific procedure, only what you feel will work best for you. Dr. Andrei takes the time to sit and explain all the available options and works with you to find the best available procedure. Working with Pam right from the start throught the surgery to the continued care after has been the best part, you will never have a question that can't be answered. The after care has been fantastic, after my surgery Andy from the office would call every morning and evening to ask how thing are going and answer any questions you may have or just give a few pointers to make recovering a little easier. Every time I was at the office I was always greeted by my name, and the office folks are truly the most professional and caring of any Dr.'s office I was ever at. I'm a so glad I made the call, you will not find a better pratice anywhere.

I've never done this before but there is no one I rather start with then Dr. Andre. I was recommended to go to him from my sister who had the same surgery I did 10 yrs. ago. Everything she told me about him was the truth. I have never met a more caring Doctor as well as professional.
When I first met him I explained that I have serious medical problems (I had a full heart attack at the age of 45. I have diabetes as well as by now 4 stents. I'm overweight but I carry it well so most people laugh when they hear me say I wanted to do a surgery, but they didn't realize how the extra weight really affected every area of my life (emotionally as well as physically) Dr. Andre understood immediately. I actually wanted to do a lap band since I was concerned regarding a true surgery. Dr. Andrei first sent me to his teacher in Manhatten so that I should get possible better care? All I can say is it was so impersonal I felt like I was in a bakery and who's number is up first.
I came back 2 years later to Dr. Andrei and asked if he would see me despite my or and especially because of my health situation. He told me he would certainly help me, but he insisted I go speak to Metabolic specialist about why I should not do the lap band but gastric bypass. He was very kind and caring and most especially extremely professional and I,(much to my surprise) agreed to the idea making sense for me.
Not only has he been unbelievable but his staff is something else. The office feels like your family, they all know you by name and you can call for anything, nothing is too much or to little to ask. Pamela the nutritionist is Dr. Andrei right hand man and I can see why they work together so well they are definatly made from the same cloth. Shannon helps you out with insurance matters and doesn't make you seem dumb when you dont know how to go about things. Carey is a sweet heart and Roz is helpful as well. Andy who is assistant to the Doctor in surgery calls every night or day to make sure I'm doing fine.(by the way that's besides for Dr. Andrei who personally calls to check up on me after surgery for a good few weeks.)
To top it all off I was extremely nervous because my husband who had a stroke was very against me doing any elective surgery. Dr. Andrei understood how important the psyche of his patient is important to success in surgery and spent and offered to spend more time with my husband explaining why this surgery will be the best thing for me and my family! I don't know too many Dr. let alone surgeon who would take the time or interest like this. I cant think of anything negative to write so I am simply going to end here. Good Luck with whomever you choose but I know at least 2 members of my family who have had success and the same feeling that I do regarding this office and this Dr.
