Dr Bass and his staff have been nothing but professional and caring. His wife Tiffany has been a huge part of getting my surgery approved in a quick and timely manner. I'm very happy that Dr Bass is my surgeon. He is a very skilled surgeon who is straight forward with his words, yet treats his patients like they really matter to him. I am very happy with Dr Bass, and his team, and would absolutely recommend them!

I am very happy with Dr. Bass. He has been very positive and helpful. rn His office staff are the best. Especially Marissa. She is the sweetest woman, and hasn't gotten snippy even once when I have had to rescheduel my appointments over and over due to a recent hospitalization for heart palpitations and more testing being ordered by my cardiologist. rnrnrnI will update as I go along in my journey...but so far....I'm very very satisfied!!

Dr. Bass (as well as Dr. Cohen and Dr. Matei) and his staff are all open minded, personable and friendly. They never made me feel that the silliest question was too silly. The office ALWAYS remembered me on a first name basis. I was always able to get hold of someone if I had a question or a problem. The follow through was perfect. They made sure that all my fears were at rest. Tiffany Bass made sure that every step was lined out and in order prior and after surgery. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Bass was wonderful in explaining about the lap band procedure and discussing which procedure he felt would be ythe best for me. He spoke to me before the surgery and wouldn't let me be discharged until he checked me in the recovery area. rn His office has a wonderful post-op program of post-op education classes weekly as while as support groups monthly. The dieticians and the bariatric coordinator is great with helping me with any problems and questions that I might have.

I'll tell you what if you live in the South Florida Area or plan on coming down to the South Florida area for surgery and looking for the most outstanding doctor, then Dr. Bass is your man. They always say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. His staff is the best I have ever dealt with. His wife is the gate keeper of the office and usually is the front person to handle insurance, preparation for surgery, any questions you have. Anytime you pick up the phone and have a question for the staff they are as friendly as can be and want to go out of the way to help you. When I met Dr. Bass at the information session in September 07, I was hooked. He is so down to earth, friendly, approachable, and most importanly knowledable in his profession. You connect with him immediately. It has been seamless dealing with his off since Semptember 07. I met with him twice since then both February 08, and March 08 and this guy been awesome. Dr. Bass and his staff has come close to me and I hope to keep that relationship. The entire program at Hollywood Bariatric Consultants from the beginning with the education, couseling, through the aftercare and the support groups it did not surprise me that their facility became a Center of Excellence.

I heard about Dr. Bass from a co worker. She was very happy with him. And although she did not have Lap Band, he does both procedures. Many emloyees from our employer use him and they are in the medical field so that says alot about their confidence in him. rn Behind every good man is a good woman, his wife Tiffany works with him and she is very kind and caring and a wealth of knowledge!!!! They both have been honest to stress that this is a \"tool\". After my first meeting with Dr. Bass, Tiffany came in with a packet that had a list of what I needed to do by what dates and all my scripts ready to go!!!!rnVery easy to understand and what could have seemed overwhelming was presented so well that you knew what to do for each month. I just figured I go ahead and get everything schedualed ahead of time as it was laid out so seamlessly!!!!! They have tried to make this process less stressful and I hope their patients appreciate it. I know I was expecting lots of headaches based upon what I've read on the boards here. rnrnAt this time I can't complain. I don't anticipate any problems. Everyone and every situation is different. We must all make our own decissions.

Dr. Bass gets a 10 from me. I met with him several times during pre-op. My insurance company required 3 months and I first met Dr. Bass during a presentation that he gave about Lapbanding. It was very informative with slides and even guest speakers that had had the surgery. Dr. Bass is very friendly and down to earth. His staff is awesome too. He has a person dedicated to working with the insurance companies and another dedicated to meeting with you to get all of your appointments made (nutritionist, psych, exercise, etc.).rnrnThe only downside was that he was 2 hours away (although he has staff here locally). He also comes over here once a month and is trying to get surgical rights at a local hospital. I had my surgery done at his hospital 2 hours away.rnrnmy impression only improved over time.rnrnlike least - I actually liked that he was very casual (Hawaiian shirt, etc.), though some may not like that??rnrnemphasize aftercare - he provides an entire manual on aftercare, specific diet post and pre-op, symptoms, phone numbers, etc.rnrnstructured aftercare - support groups, follow-upsrnrnaddress risks - he was very upfront about risks, described all in detail, although, I had some problems that I didn't know about. Apparently the connection from my esophagus to my stomach is abnormally restricted?? They had a hard time deflating my stomach?? during surgery. I had some blood in my mouth upon waking, but they (anesthesiologist and Dr. Bass) explained it right away. no pain.rnrnsurgical competence - hard to rate surgical competence (I was asleep! and also, have nothing to compare it to!), although I can say I have very minimal pain at the site. Of the 5 holes in my abdomen, 2 are literally holes and the other 3 are incisions ranging from 1/2\" to 2-1/4\". They seem bigger than I expected, but I had minimal pain. He has done 100s of these and I have no criticism.rnrnThe biggest problem I had was extreme nausea for 60 hours after surgery. Pure misery. I was light and sound sensitive and couldn't/didn't want to talk, read, watch tv or anything. I had trouble lying down and had dry heaves. I called Dr. Bass and he immediately phoned in an anti-nausea medication for me. However, it didn't seem to help. Then I woke up this morning and feel 1000 times better, although I am not 100%, maybe 85-90%.
