My first impression of Dr. Marshall was exactly what I expected. Straight to the point, no fooling around. A very competant surgeon. My impression of him is still the same. He is a wonderful Dr. Just lacks in the bed side manner. But I would pick competance over the bed side manner any day. His office staff is wonderful. Have had no trouble with them. They allways have a smile for you and have been very helpful. For what I want future patints to know about him is that if you want someone that is Very Competant and dont care about the bed side manner aspect of it, he is for you. Excellent in my opinion.

My first impression of Dr. Marshall was that he was very sraight forword and kinda of unpersonable. I only met with him a few times but each time I did he seemed to lossen up a bit. The staff in the office are great. They are friendly, easy to talk to and very understanding. The best thing about Dr. Marshall is that he does give it to you how it is,there is no beating around the bush so to speak with him. He is a wonderful surgeon and would let him cut me all over again.
My first meeting with Dr. Marshall he seemed very business like and competent. I had been leaning towards the Lap Band procedure, but he stated that he was actually biased towards the RNY. We trade information and discussed both procedures until I was statisfied that I had the info that I needed to make a final decision. He was very patient and forthcoming in his answers to my MANY questions. He suggested that I think over everything and call his nurse back in a week and we would procede to the insurer with either procedure that I decided to have. He stated that I was an ideal candidate for either procedure. My BMI is 40.6 on this date, 1/17/05.
I cannot say that he exuded a warm, comforting bedside manner, but this was only our first visit and I have not had much of an opportunity to see him in various circumstances.I felt that his approach was very informative and forthright. I like him!
I liked him he was pleasent and very informitive.
Not yet
The Rns are great the sceduling lady is nasty.
I do not know yet, Il'l see his bed side manner after.
He is a very smart man with lots of surgical skills.
He realy lets you know what is expected of you with diet and your future appts.
yes
yes the risk "you could die" and other risks . infections etc
1-10.... a 8 so far
I dont know the last question, but my vote would be both but if I had to choose 1 or the other it would be surgical competence
Dr.Marshall was pleasant, but not overly personable. His nurse Melinda is a doll, by the way. He came into the meeting w/about 3 other residents. All listened intentively to his words, i must say. He wanted to know why i thought i needed this surgery. I thought to myself (Duh, look @ me) but..i kept it short and sweet and gave him my reasons. He answered all of my questions, explained some risks/aftercare, shook my hand, said good luck and then it was over. I am approved for laproscopic pending psych eval! Overall i feel safe w/Dr.Marshall and have only heard great things about the man.
Very Professional
Office staff is wonderful-very helpful and frank--dont sugar-coat things
Head trauma surgeon for the hospital, as well as, bariatrics--what more can I say?
Aftercare very important.
Yes
Risks were discussed very frankly, as were the risks of obesity.
Cant say for certain as I am pre-op.
Dont know yet.
Strong, knowlegdeable. Melinda RN is juse the greatest. I started going to education meetings about a year before I had surgery. That was VERY helpful!! Future patients should know that Dr. Marshall is straight and to the point and an EXCELLENT surgeon. I would rate him as excellent. He is defintely better at surgical competence, rather than bedside manner.
i really thought dr marshall was a tall thin dr with bald hair that i saw around the hospital.so when this big teddybear walked into the room and said he was dr marshall i was very surpized i almost said no your not
he was kind of stiff but he has lightened up a little my goal is to make him laugh.his nurses and pa's and residents are great the older office sec.was something less appealing
i really liked dr marshall confidence
he dosen't smile much '
he is a very good dr
know you have the best and he does care
he has a tender side to him and you can tell
when he tells you what a good job you have done
he shines with pride as hell tells you how good you are doing
very up front no mixing words
100% great caring dr
surgical competence is far most important
but when i was havivg trouble he was right there with me
