Dr. McKinney is the greatest! He spent 20 minutes with me at least on every visit and answered every question I had. He has the absolute best bedside manner of any dr I have ever seen. He is chief of surgeons and that says a lot about his skill. I have lost 45 lbs with the sleeve in 3 months and I had no complications whatsoever. I would recommend anyone including my family to him.

I meet Dr. McKinely at Rocky Mountain Assoicated Physicians free siminar. I thought for as young as he looked. This man knows his craft. I too work in the medical field and you no doctors who are good and enjoy helping others and those who is in this for the money. Dr. McKinley staff are professional and kind. I like the Binder you get prior to surgery. It is filled with pre op surgery, post op surgery, support groups, lifestyle tracking and a whole lot of other information that is helpful. Dr. McKinely explained the risks and benefits and answered everyone question regarding this. He did not dance around and make the surgery seem like it was going to be a piece of cake. I give Dr.McKinley and all around 10 for professionalism, bedside manner, his emphasizes of post op care, surgical competence.

Dr. Mckinney was awesome!!! Only problem I had was his insurance person, Joni. She would not listen to me. She would not call the right people at the insurance company. I got a call that I had been approved and they set a date for the surgery. The friday before my scheduled surgery date, I got a call from Joni, stating that the insurance had not approved it so I got on the phone myself and worked on it and on the day of the Surgery, I met Joni in her office and she made a few calls and somebody gave her an approval #. So I had my surgery, but I finally got a call 3 weeks AFTER surgery from the insurance Co. stating they were going to pay for it. Joni was horrible to work with and in fact told me that I did not need to tell her how to do her job, but she obviously did not do it right. I was just very lucky that Insurance is going to pay for this!

Dr. McKinney, and Dr. Beall are wonderful. I had no complications and am almost 2 years out and am doing wonderful. They are really concerned about their patients and I have received great aftercare. He is very honest about what to expect and does not give false impressions of what to expect! I would use him again and would refer any family member to his office.

Upon first meeting Dr. McKinney, I could tell I would like him. He informed us that he had been on call the night before and had to go in, but he made us feel like he wanted us there and welcomed us. The staff was very friendly, and his nurse Debbie, who had surgery herself, works only with the bariatric patients. They really encourage the support groups and even while I am still pre-op. Very excited to continue this process with them.

DR. MCKINNEY WAS COMPASSIONATE AND INTERESTED IN ME. HE HAS AN EXCELLENT STAFF COMPOSED OF A DIETICIAN AND RN WHO HAD THE SURGERY. HAS DONE OVER 300 WITH HIS PARTNER. HE TOOK A LOT OF TIME WITH ME, I HAD AN OLD VBG CONVERTING TO A REVISION, TO MAKE SURE I UNDERSTOOD THE RISK/BENEFITS BEFORE GRANTING PERMISSION.
I AM HIGH RISK YET HE DECIDED I DESERVED A CHANCE TO BE NORMAL. HE HAS FOLLOWED ME EVERY 2 WEEKS SINCE 9/19 AMD BELIEVES IN LIFETIME FOLLOW UP. HE WORKS WELL WITH YOUR PCP TOO.
AFTER OR HE WAS GENTLE AND MOTIVATING. HE IS WELL VERSED IN ALL PROCEDURES AND YOU WOULD ENJOY HIM. HE IS A TRU PATIENT ADVOCATE. A RARE BIRD INDEED!
EACH VISIT INCLUDES MEETING WITH HIS DIETICIAN AND RN AS WELL AS HIMSELF.
I WOULD RATE HIM A+ IN ALL AREAS. VISIT TYLER, TX AND ATTEND HIS SEMINAR.
HIS OFFICE CAN BE VERY BUSY BUT THEY DO THEIR BEST. SOME OF THE ICU STAFF, OF WHICH HE HAS NO CONTROL, WERE RUDE AND DID NOT DO MUCH PT CARE.

I was very impressed with Dr. McKinney's sensitivity and communication skills. He was never too busy to answer any of my questions or concerns. He is very thorough before surgery, during surgery, and afterwards. He is very knowledgeable and explains everything in detail. He a great surgeon with surgical skills that are far better than average and his bedside manner is great. His office staff is friendly and he has a dedicated and knowledgeable nursing staff that will assist with any concerns you may have. They do seem to go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. He has a pre/aftercare support group that is very informative and with you for the long run. Future patients should know they will be in the best of hands and care with Dr. McKinney and his staff. I would recommend Dr. McKinney 100% to anyone who is looking for a surgeon. If you are thinking about having the surgery done, look into it and give his office a call--it will change your life forever!!!!!

<p align="left">He is someone I would have been friends with growning up! It is one of those instances where you feel like you have already known one another. He has a terrific bedside manner and surgical competence are equally awesome. He is also very easy to talk to. The staff is pleasant and very helpful. Debbie Knight is awesome. She is his main bariatric nurse and she has experience first hand the surgery and it's benefits. As far as aftercare, he stresses that he and Dr. Beall (his team partner) are with you for life. He was very open about the dangers and risks as well as the benefits.
