Dr. Mocosco is a very friendly surgeon. He was polite and never made me feel "big". He is very well groomed and takes his time with you and carefully answered all of my questions. The office was running behind at least an hour so the staff was very busy trying to catch up. The staff was not overly friendly but they were not unkind and they were very busy. The thing I liked least would have to be the time I waited in the waiting room. (Who likes to sit in a waiting room from 11:15-12:40) Dr. Mocosco doesn't emphazie after care to the degree that portsmouth naval hospital does but he does talk about it. He does not have a structured after care program but they do have a support group that meets once a month. He did address all the rish of surgery. Dr. Mocosco would get an good overall rating. He really took his time with me, even though he was running behind, he answered all my questions and made me feel like he is very competent and showed great bedside manner.
I didnt love the cold receptionist who had no sense of humor or personality that I could see. Also for a doctors office that holds 3 docs that do the gastric-bypass, youd think theyd have a scale to weigh people with who might exceed 350 (those old medical metal scales from elementary school) So needless to say I have to go to Weight Watchers and join just so I can know how much I weigh.
I did however LOVE Dr Moscoso! (they spelled it wrong on this page) Hes not only handsome..lol but hes young so hes witty and has a super personality. Our visit was a lot less stressful then I expected. He made me feel very comfortable, more like going in to talk to a friend than seeing some stuffy old doctor who I thought would talk down to me. Roz, who is his assistant has been very patient with me when I call like a nervous child with silly questions. I also loved that they have support group meetings each month which I definitely will attend. Im sold!
