I was a patient of Dr Raja in 2008 thru 2010 until the hospital that I worked went through a change. I live and work in Odessa,TX and Dr. Raja is in San Antonio and would make the commute with his team (nurses, dietician, etc) to our community, however, insurance changed and they stopped. I am trying to get back in with Dr. Raja as I feel he is better equipped to handle my questions and was very pleased with him and his staff. They answered my questions and concerns and Dr. Raja is very thorough and I would highly recommend him to any of my friends.
Dr. Raja is a kind, warm, caring man with a wonderful bedside manner. I can't say enough great things about this Dr. He has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable and will take his time with you. He answers any and all questions over and over and will not rush you through your appoinments. He is a wonderful Dr. I wish I could find a PCP as great as he is.
I went to my first appointment today and the seminar this weekend. I just want to say that he is an awesome person, as well as his staff. They all treated me like a human being and never once did i feel out of place. I actually enjoyed being there.rnHe truly wants what is best for me, and went over every single thing and I have no worry about the procedure, which might take place in a month(gastric bypass). If I had to rate him and his staff, I would definietly give them all a 10, thats how great hey are!
I had my 1st consultation with Dr. Raja on August 29th 2007. He seemed very polite, as well as very direct. I appreciated that because I was worried that he would either A: judge me or B: talk me into something that I was unsure of in the first place. He has excellent bedside manners....which I am grateful for. So far so good!
DR. RAJA. IS A GREAT SURGEON, FROM BEGINNING TO END HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL I HAD MY SURGERY (LAP BAND) NOV. 30 2006 AND 1 WK AFTER SURGERY MY SCARS WERE PRACTICALLY UNOTICEABLE. HIS BEDSIDE MANNER WAS GREAT AND FROM AN RN'S PROSPECTIVE HE IS AN EXCELLENT SURGEON, I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANY0NE LOOKING TO HAVE SURGERY. HE ALSO KEPT IT REAL, HE DID NOT CANDY COAT ANY OF THE POSSIBLE ADVERSE REACTIONS OF THE SURGERY AND BASICALLY LET ME SEE THE SURGERY BEFORE IT HAPPENED. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MY PROGRESS.
I really appreciate Dr.Raja and everyone at his office. He is kind, caring and has a wonderful sense of humor.rnWhen we first met he explained everything thoroughly. My support person is an R.N. and he answered every one of her many questions.rnOn surgery date when I was waiting to go into the surgery room I had a complete meltdown. I was on the gurney sobbing. He came out and held my hand and reassured me that everything was going to be fine. rnI have gone for fills twice and both have been quick and painless. rnEveryone in is office is very nice and efficient.rnMy only problems with the office would be the wait times but that is a minor thing for me, and the problems with the WISH center and my overpayment. I hope to have that worked out soon.rnI would highly recmmend Dr.Raja to anyone who asks!
What was your impression of him?rnDr Raja was great... from the very beginning. Upon my 2nd visit, which had been schedule the day before my surgery at my request, there was a problem with the sleep study which delayed my surgery. Dr Raja was SO understanding and made arrangements for me to get the needed testing that night and only post poned my surgery by one day. rnrnHow would you describe his office staff?rnThey are the best! Everyone that I encountered in his office were so helpful and understanding... even when I called in with stupid questions. :) rnrnWhat should future patients know about him?rnHe will tell you exactly (in detail) what you are expected to do, and then he'll expect you do it. He and his staff will do everything they can to help you through the process but it's up to you to meet your goals. Some people may not like this, but it was exactly what I wanted and needed. rnrnWhich is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great? rnCompetence is definitely more important than bedside manner... but with Dr Raja, you'll get the best of both! rnrnThe one negative experience I had was involved in getting a return phone call, but that was only one time and it turned out they were having phone line problems. rn
My first impression of Dr. Raja was that of professionalism. He is very friendly and more than willing to listen and answer all my questions. I never feel as if he is in a rush to get out of the room. He is always very understanding and supportive. Overtime, my admiration for him grows stronger. He is a physician that cares deeply for his patients; which is demonstrated in every kind thing that he says and does. The office staff at Dr. Raja's office is very friendly and supportive. I always hear them encouraging and praising other patients on how great they are doing or how good they are looking. The office is also \"plus-size\" friendly by having all chairs that are accomodating to their clients needs. Honestly, there is nothing that I do not love about Dr. Raja. I have recommended him to many of my fellow co-workers and friends. Dr. Raja has one of the most educational/infomative programs designed to help you understand exactly what you need to do before and after surgery. There is definately a lot of teaching that is done. He has a computer program and counseling with dieticians, exercise physiologist, and a psychologist. All of these support persons are also available for you after surgery. Dr. Raja talks with you, in depth, about the lapband surgery. He explains the advantages and risks of having the lapband surgery. I would say, that Dr. Raja is a wonderful surgeon. He is very knowledgeable and compassionate. He has been an exceptional physician to me. I do not have enough kind words to express how I feel about him. I am a very pleased that I chose him as my surgeon. He goes above and beyond that standard \"role\" of physician/surgeon. He definately exceeds above all the others in his bedside manner and surgical competence. As a Registered Nurse, I work with physicians on a daily basis. I definately wish that more physicians were as caring and devoted as Dr. Raja!!! The only suggestion that I have is bring a sweater to the office :) It does get chilly on some days!!!!!!!!
It's been two years since my life changing surgery and I have to thank Dr. Paresh Rajajoshiwala and his very courteous and professional staff for all my success. Before my operation I walked into his office feeling very depressed and very unhealthy and he offered me a light at the end of my very dark tunnel. I really did not think that there was a solution to my weight problem and he reassured me that there was, that he would help me in acheiving success. Finally, a doctor who cared about me. He had all the answers to my questions. He was very genuine and sincere in wanting to help me rid myself of being unhealthy. I had faith that he would do a good job, and he did. He understood my strife. His staff was at my service and helped me understand what measures I needed to take to ensure a safe weight loss. Another bonus was that I was able to call Dr. Raja anytime I needed his help. He gladly accepted my calls. I am no longer the same person I once was because I am no longer a person tied down by my weight. My life has changed dramatically. Life is good.
