Dr. Mitchell Roslin, Bariatric Surgeon
Mitchell Roslin, MD, FACS is the founding surgeon and Director of Bariatric Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital and at the Northern Westchester Hospital Center. Dr. Roslin is one of the nation’s leading bariatric surgeons whose thought-provoking research and innovation established him as a pioneer for the surgical treatment of obesity. After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, he earned his medical degree from New York University. He completed an internship at UCSD Medical Center and completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He also serves as the President of the New York State ASMBS chapter and co-chair of the access committee.
As an international leader in bariatrics, Dr. Roslin has served as a visiting scholar and surgeon all over the United States, as well as in Bahrain, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. He has received many awards throughout his professional career; he has been honored as a Top Doctor by Castle and Connolly, as well as New York Magazine.
Dr. Roslin has authored numerous articles and abstracts. He is very dedicated to continuing patient education and often writes for ObesityHelp, Westchester Magazine, and maintains an ongoing blog for patient support.

He holds multiple patents, has designed a method for the endoscopic treatment of relapse following gastric bypass, as well as is involved in clinical trials including the Restore Trial and Vagus Nerve Stimulation for Obesity. Dr. Roslin pioneered the Single-Anastomosis Duodenal Switch (SIPS) procedure which is a modification of the Duodenal Switch (DS). He has advocated preserving the pyloric valve and has lectured globally about the Sleeve Gastrectomy and Duodenal Switch.
As a native New Yorker, Dr. Roslin takes immense pride in serving the bariatric and health needs of his community. He performs over 400 cases a year, many of them being extremely complex bariatric surgery revisions that have been referred to him by other doctors. He also performs Gastric Bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Adjustable Gastric Banding (Lap-Band), Duodenal Switch, and Modified Duodenal Switch (SIPS).
