My first impression was, WOW he talks fast!!! Realistically, I knew he was busy. He answered all my questions honestly. He didn't sugar coat anything. He made me aware of the risks of surgery and also the risks of not having surgery. Hi nurse Jane, is an angel. She pushed so hard for the approval and in my mind went above and beyond for me. She has become a good friend of mine. Without her I think the whole process would've been more stressful for me. There wasn't anything that I didn't like about Dr. Bono. I feel that he is fantastic at what he does. Once you have this surgery with him you become a patient for life. I can call anytime with questions or problems and I get almost immediate responses. His bedside manner is comforting. I felt like his younger sister. As far as his surgical competence, if I didn't think he was competent I would have never let him operate!!!~
My First impression of Dr. Bono, is weird, but he is very confident in what he does. Jane is the nurse as well as the program coordinator, and she also had the surgery, so she knows what your going through. Aftercare with them is extensive, you have to commit to several support groups through them, plus you have to continue to see him the rest of your life. Dr Bono is very nice and also very maticulas. I really couldn't rate him, because I don't know what the other surgeons are like. There is a structured aftercare program.
From the first time I had met with him & Jane I liked them alot and found them both to be very up-front & told me everything from the good to the bad aspects of having this surgery. I feel very comfortable with them and am so much looking forward to having this surgery-(hmmm, how many paople can actually say they look forward to this)
First Impression: Very outgoing and full of life. Very good looking yet not cocky.rnrnImpression change: Only for the better!rnrnOffice Staff: Awsome! Very nice and caring, especially the angel named JANE!rnrnLiked least about Bono:Nothing at all, almost afraid to say there is a perfect man out there!rnrnFuture patients know about him: Very quick, easy and to the point doctor. Doesn't waste anytime. Holds a very heavy schedule. rnrnEmphasize aftercare: Majorly. Encourages everyone to attend meetings and gives support as needed!rnrnStructured after care program: Yes. Including meetings, phone calls and dietician updates as needed.rnrnAddressed risks of surgery: Very direct and to the point. Will tell the truth even if it hurts. Not beating around the bush for this guy.rnrnOverall Rating for Bono: Stupendous, Remarkable, Honorary, Impeckable, Delightful, Intelligent and Overwhelming!rnrnWhich is better - surgical comp or bed manner: I would say both are great. Even in the hospital he is quick and to the point. he stated \"Melissa, it was boring (in a good way) and went fine. Good luck, any questions?\" and that was it.
Dr Bono is a wonerful man. He is kind and very open with you. His office staff is very friendly, Jane is the best. The after care is very important as they make sure everything is going the way it should. He follows thru with everything, he does not just operate and say thank you and your done this is a lifetime process. Dr Bono is always improving making things better for his patients.. This definatliy one Dr everyone needs to check out before you make any desicions. So check him out you will not be disapointed.
I cannot say enough about the dedication Dr Bono has towards his work and the patients in his care. Because of this dedication and success of his work, his practice has become the new Northeast Bariatric Center. His support staff, especially Jane, the bariatric nurse co-ordinator, possess what is known in the business world as Star Power.
Dr. Bono is a truly awesome surgeon. My first impression was why did it take me a year to find him. He is so straightforward, tells it like it is. He also makes you feel good about yourself even though you are overweight. Then once you have the surgery and you see him for follow ups, he really makes you feel like you are beautiful. His office staff is fantastic. Anytime I call with a question they are so quick about getting back to me and always courteous. His bariatric nurse, Jane, is such a motivator. The two of them are such a successful team. They stress that you are their patient for life and encourage attendance at the support group they run. The hospital they use is Hazleton General and the ICU staff there is fantastic. Dr. Bono is the head of surgery. I don't have anything negative to say about Dr. Bono or my WLS. I'm 8 weeks out and would recommend Dr. Bono and his staff to anyone. I brag about them all the time when anyone asks me about my surgery.
