December 17, 2004- I met with Dr.Wasco. I was very impressed. He is very professional and seems to have thought out everything and studied your information before he even walks in to meet you. He is very knowledgeable in his field and does not rush you and takes time to answer and explain the answers to all your questions. He is also very forthright and addresses the risks you have with surgery. I feel that I am very fortunate to have a physician that is extremely competent in his surgical practices as well as a person with a wonderful beside manner. Midwest Bariatric Solutions has a "very" structured aftercare program and Dr. Wasco emphasizes how important that it for a person to achieve their weight loss goals.

Betsy Winnekens(His nurse practitioner)is a very wonderful, caring, patient and a knowledgeable young lady. She is very thorough from start to finish at your visit.

Linda- One of the nurses is great! She is very upbeat and professional and my immediate feeling was that she "really truly cares about each individual".

Julie Scott- She is in the business office. She was so easy to work with. She is a very organized person. She has a very calm personality. She is very professional and makes sure all your questions and concerns are taken care of.

Dustin Winnekens, BA,CPT- Is outstanding! His enthusiasm is unreal!- Very intelligent, kind, caring, motivating person. I look very forward to participating in his exercise training program! He also has my husband hooked on getting fit.

As you can read-- It is honestly true that I have nothing negative to say about anyone that I have met at the Midwest Bariatric Solutions Department at Theda Clark. Wonderful! simply wonderful!

From the very first time I met Dr. Wasco I knew he was the one I wanted to go with. He was very personable and listened to what I had to say and ask. He asnswered my questions to the fullest. I was very pleased with him. I would recommend him to anyone that asks.

His office staff is very personable also. You almost feel like family when you go in there. Very comfortable. They care for you as a person. Not just a number or other patient.

Aftercare is very important for success. Without their help I think you will have problems. Plus you need to keep updated with all your labs and other medical care is.

I feel they have a very nice aftercare program.

Dr. Wasco and Dr. Georgen both went over the risks of surgery. But I seriously felt I had nothing to lose at the time of my surgery except for the weight.

In the 3 years that I researched for the surgery and all the surgeons I did meet, I can't say enough about Dr. Wasco or Dr. Georgen. I feel they are the best. And I come from Green Bay to see them on a quarterly basis right now.

I feel both are great.

The only thing that I wish they had and I know they do but they charge on certain times and that is a bariatric support group. If I am misinformed I apoligize but it would be nice to see a good support system free of charge.

My first impression was that he seemed shy, but sincere.
Immediately, and then supported over time, I realized that he truly wanted to see me succeed and become healthier.
He and his office staff are sincere people who don't just give the impression of caring - they truly do.
There wasn't anything I didn't like about Dr. Wasco. One of the best things to know is that if you have a question, write it down so that you don't forget to ask him when you see him.
Aftercare is crucial! Be prepared, going in, to make the committment. You success and health depend on it! This is not an easy fix! You will face obstacles that, with out the support, can be devastating.
The ThedaClark after care program is very structured to help you succeed. Thank God! Take full advantage of it.
The risks of surgery were outlined in a required seminar, in a brochure, a binder/guide and discussed with a professional- up to and including the day of the surgery. Overall I would rate Dr. Wasco and his staff a resounding 10. They were always there for me!
Dr. Wasco is pleasant to work with. His surgical competence is a 20 - I've never felt more secure with a surgeon.

~3/07/04~ Finally got to meet and talk with Dr. Wasco. I really like him a lot. He is straight forward and never seems to miss a beat when he is talking. He was prepared to answer all my questions and he didn't seem in a rush to leave, but more like he wanted to stay and be sure I was secure with all the info he was sharing with me.

~11/12/03~Have only met him in the passing and at a meeting. No one on one time yet, but he seems to be very friendly and really know his stuff. While I was visiting a friend after her surgery he came in and had a great bedside manner and was very caring.

Dr. Wasco is awesome. At the meeting he seemed a little dry, but after my meeting with his pre-op I thought he was really cool. He seemed very down-to-earth. He even seemed somewhat humerous. Post-op he was great too. Dr. Georgen also checked on me (as they both perform the surgery together). I would highly recommend both doctors.

I thought he was very nice and informative. My impression did not change about him over time only that we go to know each other alittle better and he has a good sense of humor.
His staff was great, very frienly, very nice and helpful. There isn't much that I didn't like about Dr. Wasco only that he seemed in a hurry some of the time.
I think that his patients need to know is that he is a caring doctor and he will take the time to answer your questions and he don't hurry you out of his office like some doctors do.
He feels strongly about aftercare.
He did not stress the risks of surgery until I asked him but I was just reasuring myself because I got all that info from the seminar they had me go to. Overall I would rate him an excelent surgeron. I have no complaints about him.
His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great?
He knows what he is doing and is a very nice man.

I thought Dr. Wasco was very nice and informative. My impression of him never changed over time just that we got to know each other alittle better and he has a great sense of humor. I thought his staff was great, very nice and polite. I can't say that there was anything I disliked about Dr. Wasco. What future patients should know about Dr. Wasco is that he is strate to the point and honest and will take the time to answer your questions. He is also caring and concerned about you and is there when you need him and does not rush you out of his office. You can call his office anytime and someone will be there to help you.
The aftercare program is great. I was advised of all the risks before hand which weren't very many. I was well infourmed about the surgery and I knew the risks and benifits.
His surgical competence and bedside manner were both great I have no complaints.
Over all I would give Dr. Wasco an excellent rating. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon.
