Dr. Jon Gould, Bariatric Surgeon
Jon Gould, MD, FACS is the Chief of General Surgery and Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is nationally recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive bariatric surgery and for laparoscopy, endoscopy and robotic techniques for the treatment of diseases of the stomach and esophagus including Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Gastroparesis, Achalasia and Esophageal Motility Disorders, Hiatal Hernias, Symptomatic Cholelithiasis, and Paraesophageal Hernias.
Dr. Gould holds the prestigious Walker Endowed Chair in General Surgery at the Medical College, which is an important honor allowing him to further his research on clinical outcomes and the development of new surgical devices and technologies. He was included on the 2015-16 Best Doctors in America list, a recognition that is nominated and voted on by physician peer support.
As a leader in bariatrics, Dr. Jon Gould is often invited to lecture on his areas of expertise and has published numerous articles and papers. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health where he also completed his residency in general surgery. He went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Ohio State University Medical Center.
