John Kellum Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr Kellum is a surgeon that gets right down to the point.

I really never saw him after the surgery except when he removed my stiches.

The Gastric Bypass Nurse Jill is great if you have any problems or questions she is always willing to help.

He did a great job on my surgery and found a tumor on my liver while he was doing surgery so I am thankful for that.

He told me about the risks but I am not sure that I myself understood some of them.

You go for appointments 2 weeks after surgery, then every 3 months after that

He has a very structured after care program, complete with nurse and dietician who are available by phone if you ever need to ask any questions, whether medical or dietary

He discussed risks, but emphasized that most are unlikely to occur, and if they do, they are treatable (for the most part)

I would give him an 8 (out of 10 being the highest)

I think surgical competence and bedside manner are both important

Dr. Kellum was wonderful. He did a fantastic job.
