I was very impressed with Dr. Sax and his staff, he spent a lot of time with me explaining and answering questions. I would recommend him highly.

I was very impressed with Dr. Harry Sax. During my first consultation with him he took all the time with me that I needed. He never once made me feel like I was wasting his time or anything like that. He made me feel like I was his only patient that day and like he had all of the time in the world to spend with me.

At the end of my exam he came back into the room and talked to my husband and I for a bit longer, then asked if I had any questions that I wanted to ask. I told him that I had a list of them and would like to ask him the ones that he hadn't already answered in our previous conversations that day. He told me to go ahead and took the time to answer the rest of my questions.

After leaving the exam room we were lead into Dr. Sax's office to talk to his secretary and set up an appt. for a psych consult. Dr. Sax was in there and I asked him another question that I had thought of and he answered that too. Then as he got up to leave and walked by me he patted me on the arm, and told me that all was going to go well.

His staff was very freindly. They were all smiling and said Hi when you passed them.

Overall I would say on a scale of 1 to 10...Dr. Sax is atleast a 15.

Realizing that is only a first impression, we will see if anything changes as we continue on with this process. I am pretty confident that my opinion won't change though.

I found Dr. Sax to be a very understanding caring person. The staff is very helpful in everything they do for you. The staff takes the time to answer any questions you may have. You see a psychiatrist before surgery to see if mentally you can handle the surgery and the after affects it will have on you. They explained everything in great detail. Dr. Sax even drew a picture of what he was doing. I got a new diet to follow. Dr. Sax and the staff are very encouraging, very positive for you. I highly recomend Dr. Sax and his team members.

My first impression with this surgeon was rather a cool, businesslike air about him. He was very knowledgeable about the surgery and I was impressed by the way he asked me questions wanting to know if I had some sense of this whole process.
The staff at his office was fine. Just as I would expect at a physicians office. I came to like my doctor very much and as the appt. went by...I began a nice relationship with him. I felt very comfortable talking with him aboutanything that concerned me and he valued all my questions.
The aftercare was adequate. I felt that I was seen enough and he was truly impressed with my hard work and his. lol.I would reccommend anyone in this area of Western New York to interview him as a potential surgeon.I felt that once he knew I was serious about changing my life, we became an undefeatable team.
He was wonderful. I owe him a lot. Thank you Dr. Sax!

I was very impressed with Dr. Sax. Having always felt ashamed going to see any doctor, I expected to feel the same. He put me at ease and spoke to me like a person...not a patient. He was very clear and did not speak down to me. His staff is wonderful! Maryanne (secretary) is a godsend. She truly is an angel. If I had to say anything negative it would be that Dr. Sax is very busy and seems rushed at times. However, I think it is because he is eager to help so many people.

My husband had Open Bariatric Surgery last year. He has had a very positive experience. Dr. Sax and his team were very supportive and easy to deal with.

My "road to approval" was a little more cloudy because they wanted to make sure that I was making the choice for myself -vs- pressure from my husband. I was instructed to go for a couple extra sessions of counseling.

Once all was complete, the authorization process went extremely well.

This is a man that is truely interested in your welfare as a human being. He see's the person that you are, not how you look. He also respects the level of your intelligence and interacts with you on that level. His office staff is very knowledgeable to an extent and his practioners and fellow peers are extremely proficient as well. As with all medical facilities of this era, time is at a premium. Pre-operatively there is an enormous amount of time spent in discovery. What, why, how, etc... There is major effort to make certain you have all the tools you need to even begin this journey. I should tell you that I have been on both sides of the operating table and I am shooting right from the hip when I say he is excelent. Just know that this is a surgeon with skills that are very hard to rate. On a scale of 1-10 he is easily a 15. I know because I have many co-morbity diseases and he was able to have me out of the OR in about 2 hours. Because of his skills and my complele co-operation I was discharged the afternoon of the 3rd day. I did, however, have an aide and a home nurse because of my other diseases. As far as risks go, I had more than the average bear so mine were covered at length. I assume he does the same for all patients. For bedside manner, again I have been on both sides so, I am not a biggie on this. I need someone that listens to me and acts rather that be sweet and smiley and do nothing to help with my concerns. I think DR.Sax covers all bases.

I met Dr. Sax and thought he was a very caring, impressionable man, he is concerned that I am aware of the risks involved, and that I know that this is only a tool to help me overcome obesity, in my opinion I couldn't have picked a better surgeon.

And now after my second consult I know I have picked the best.he is totally awesome....his staff is the best very informative and caring people, didn't feel as though I was being shoved under the carpet as I have felt that way beofre with other physicians/staff.

Aftercare is essential, from the checkups to the physc.not only will our body go through changes but so will our mental status...ups downs and all the inbetweens..

DR. SAX IS THE BEST! MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM WAS THAT HE WAS DEDICATED TO HELPING PEOPLE LIKE ME, BUT WAS VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD IN DESCRIBING THE SURGERY. HE WAS VERY THOROUGH AND TO THE POINT. HE IS VERY DETAILED ORIENTED AND GIVES YOU ALL THE ANSWERS YOU NEED.AFTERCARE IS IMPORTANT...HE AND HIS STAFF ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION. THE THING I APPRECIATED MOST WAS THAT HE WAS HONEST AND DIDN'T SUGARCOAT ANYTHING. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. SAX TO ANYONE CONSIDERING SURGERY. HE IS WORTH THE 2 AND A HALF HOUR DRIVE. I WOULD GIVE HIM A RATING OF 9 OUT OF 10.

I met with Dr. Sax for the first time in April. He seemed pleasant and business-like...very business like. Which is fine with me. I'd rather have a skilled surgeon than a friend operate on me...and he is highly recommended. His staff is very pleasant and helpful. I feel that all aspects of surgery, complications, post-op were explained and my questions were all answered. He does insist on meeting with your primary support person, which I thought was great. My husband was much more comfortable with the procedure and Dr. Sax after meeting with him.

I would highly recommend Dr. Sax to anyone considering bariatric surgery. He is serious about his work but as excited as I am about my successes...it is terrific to know that your surgeon is part of your team!
