George Kerlakian Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My first impression of Dr. Kerlakian was great, he was very open and willing to answer any questions. He held no punches he makes sure that you understand that this can be a life rendering surgery. And that it should not be taken lightly. He also insists that you have someone that will be with you after the surgery also come in and meet with him. Which I think is very important so that the family also knows what to expect after this life altering procedure. It is a big step and should be explained to the family in detail so that there is a minimal amount of surprises after the procedure is complete. On a scale I would rate him a 9.5.

<Font face="Comic Sans MS"><font size=2><p align="left">Dr. Kerlakian is a great surgeon. He is very upfront about everything. He makes you go through all the steps before you even meet with him like, psych eval, pulmonary dr, and dietician. You have to meet with the dietician 2 times prior to surgery and at least 4 times after. When I had problems after surgery he ran every test possible to find out what the problem was.

I have since chosen him as my surgeon He is a wonderful man I am an RN and am very careful about my physicians(like we all are) I rate him a 10 out of 10 I am now waiting approval from Blue Cross Bllue Shield PPO. He sat down and spoke with me and made me fel very confident in him. I never felt rushed. I cannot wait to receive this awesome tool to help me live the rest of my life healthy!!!Andrea

I was very impressed with Dr. Kerlakian. The more he spoke the more impressed I became. His staff was very pleasent and easy to deal with. They were very helpful. He was nice looking and he knew what he was talking about. That choosing him for their surgeon would be the best choice they could make. He told me there would be a lot of after care and he wanted me to bring my husband with me on the next trip in. Yes they keep very close in contact with you and they take very good care of their patients. Dr. Kerlakian told me all the ups and downs in having this surgery. He told me of all the problems he has had in the past. He came out and laid it all out on the table. Told me this is a very important decision that I am making and can't be reversed. That I would certainly have to make a commentment to this. I would rate Dr. Kerlakian as an excellent doctor. From what I can tell he knows his stuff. I willing and ready for the surgery. He told me they would contact me when the Insurance approved the surgery. That he didn't see there would be any problems. From others that I have talked to they say his bedside manor and his surgical competence is wonderful.

I had the best surgeon. He good great care of me and I was completely satisfied with him and his associates.

I think Dr. Kerlackian was wonderful. He was very kind and explained everything to the fullness. If I had it to do over again I would still get Dr. Kerlackian to do the surgery. He takes very good care of his patients. Everytime I have been in his office his staff have been great.

He is great. I met with him on Friday and he was very patient and pleasant. Feels I am making best decision of my life and since I am young enough that i don't have all of the comord will heal nicely and have no problems at all. He was very open and honest about the procedures that he has performed and that he had lost a patient and explained the background in that circumstance. He wants you to be well informed and not take this lightly. Awesome mannerism. Just waiting on a date for surgrey but I would not second guess him he made me feel very comfortable.

SINCE I WORK WITH DR. KERLAKIAN PROFESSIONALLY, I ALREADY KNOW QUIT ALOT OBOUT HIM..BUT FROM A PT'S POINT OF VIEW,, VERY HONEST AND SINCERE.HIS OFFICE STAFF IS VERY EFFECIENT AND VERY NICE.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT DR. KERLAKIAN HAS RESIDENTS THAT WORK WITH HIM, AS HE DOES WORK IN A TEACHING HOSPITAL,, YOU CAN ELECT NOT TO HAVE THE RESIDENT OPERATE ON YOU.
DR. KERLAKIAN HAS ORGANIZED HIS BARIACTRIC
SURGERIES WELL, HE HAS YOU SEE SEVERAL OTHER
DOCTORS PRIOR TO SEEING HIM, THIS HELPS YOU MOVE ALONG QUICKLY IN THE INSURANCE PART OF SCHEDULING, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO SEE A NUTRITIONIST 2 TIMES PRIOR TO SURGERY AND 4 TIMES AFTER SURGERY.HE IS VERY UPFRONT ABOUT THE RISKS, AND LETS YOU KNOW ABOUT HIS
SUCCESSES AND THE ONE PATIENT THAT HE LOST.
SINCE I HAVENT HAD THE SURGERY, I DECLINE TO RATE HIM YET..BUT I AM LEAVING MYSELF IN HIS AND GODS HANDS,, I HAVE FAITH IN BOTH.

Dr. Kerlakian was very nice. He took as much time with me as I needed to make sure I understood everything. He was great! His office staff was also wonderful. I don't think that there was one thing that I could say I didn't like about him. He is very honest and will let you know that he had recently lost one patient. This honesty made me like him all the more. He even seemed still hurt by the loss...truly concerned for the well being of all his patients. How refreshing! After care is very important. You see him 7-10 days after surgery (to get first set of staples out), then again a week or two later (to get second set out), after that you see him every month to three months after that. He also stresses that you need to continue seeing a Dietician or Nutritionist. I rate him a 10+. He seemed to have it all, surgical competence as well as great bedside manner. I view surgical competence to be most important, but it makes it all the better when they have a good bedside manner.

I felt totally comfortable with him. He really lays it out in clear terms what to expect and did't soft soap anything. The office staff was very efficient but I did't have as much contact with them. My appointment was with the surgeon and I spent the entire time with him.

Dr. Kerlakian was so compasionate and informative. His staff was very friendly.He was very direct, very honest. I have referenced him with others and have heard only rave reviews. I prefer his surgical competence over bedside manner anyday, however, I cannot see his bedside manner being anything but charming.

Dr. Kerlakian is a very competent surgeon. I rate him a 10 and would trust him to care for me again.
