I thought Doctor Ferzli to be a nice guy when I first met him. He was down to earth and gave me a lot of information about the different procedures. Karen, the coordinator, was excellent and very informative. She was really amazing because she helped me with all the clearances that had to be done. The process was very long and somewhat annoying but she made it pleasant. I found Laura, the nutritionist to be very helpful during the nutrition education as well.

At first, I was afraid of weight loss surgery but going to the support group meetings was very helpful. I heard from many people who actually had surgery and to hear them speak about it and the after care really made me feel more comfortable. I am happy with this program thus far.

My first impression of Doctor Ferzli was that he was very personable and made me feel comfortable. I'm a nurse and feel that this trait is very important when dealing with patients, espeically when deciding on surgery. I felt the program was structured; Doctor Ferzli took the time to sit with me and explain every aspect of the bypass procedure and answered all of my questions. I didn't like I was a number.

My first impression of Dr. Ferzli was that he was truly concerned for my well being and wanted to make sure that I understood everything about the procedure. Karen, the nurse, is very professional and organized. I had no questions throughout the procedure because she outlines all there was to do. Everyone in the group makes sure that each patient is well informed and prepared for surgery. You can't find a better group of people to help you through this process.

My first impression of Dr. Ferzli was that he was a confident experienced surgeon. My impression remains the same over time with the further knowledge that he is exceptionally well repected by his peers, community, and staff inclusive of independant hospital nurses and staff. His office staff is an experienced shop with perhaps sheer volume effecting better follow-up.Communication gaps between office, hopspital, insurance is overcome by remembering that you are your own best advocate for organizing the process.

There is no 'least' dislike. Dr. Ferzli balances a a busy office and schedule extremely well. What other patients should know is that he's a confident pro first and foremost. He says what he means and he means what he says.

The office has a built-in aftercare program. The risk of surgery is adressed verbally and in writing, no holds barred.

Overall I would rate Dr. Ferzli as the top of his field, and his peers seem to agree.

Bedside manner without surgical competence is useless.

I had Bariatric Surgery on July 20, 2010. Dr. Ferzli was the surgent. With the exception of a couple of minor set backs, Dr. Ferzli and his staff at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY were excellent. The entire staff from the doctors, nurses, nurses aids, etc were imperceptible! I would have no problem recommending Dr. Ferzli and any of the Lutheran Medical Staff. They were great!

I'm now on a road to a healthy life!

My first impression of Doctor Ferzli was that he appeared to be very kind. The office staff is fantastic. The program is laid out and they make it very clear on what I needed to do and answered all my questions. They even covered what I am to expect months after the surgery. I chose Doctor Ferzli because of his excellent reputation and his experience. Overall, the program has been a long, hard haul to get to because my insurance company required a six month diet history but throughout that time the staff has made it very pleasant.

Lutheran's program in Brooklyn is very detailed and covers everything from the initial consult through post operative care. Every aspect of my care was explained to me. Everyone in the program has been extremely helpful. My nutritionist, Laura, has instructed me on each phase of my diet and explained the changes that will occur with it. I also found my surgeon, Doctor Ferzli, to be listed among one of the best doctors performing weight loss surgery.

I am very pleased with my surgeon and the entire staff. Everyone is very professional. I would like to inform others thinking about or preparing for surgery that it is a very long process to prepare for. Insurance companies often require at least six months documentation of diet and weight history. I am very happy with my results so it paid off.

My first impression of Dr. Ferzli was that I was going to be in the hands of a very competent & knowledgable Dr.
Dr. Ferzli has proven to be just that, in this process of getting cleared for surgery.
I would describe the office staff has being very helpful. My clearance is taking a long time, but the staff have been very helpful and patient with me. I really appreciate that.
I picked Dr. Ferzli from my insurance website, I knew nothing about him before that. I would want future patients to know that they would be very fortunate to have Dr. Ferzli has their Dr.
Aftercare is stressed and there is a aftercare program that I am planning to make a part of my successful journey to weight loss.
I would absolutely recommend Dr. Ferzli and his program to anyone considering wls. They will be in good hands.
