He completed his surgical residency at Thomas Jefferson University and the The Lankenau Hospital, part of Jefferson Health System in Pennsylvania. He completed a clinical fellowship in advanced laparoscopy, endoscopy and bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida. He is board-certified in general surgery.
