My opinion of Dr. Valin has remained consistent since I first saw him at our group meeting. He's very professional but is openly concerned about his patient. He has a personality that I have a hard time associating with one word. He's quick about his business and professional but he also seems sweet and kind. His staff (his wife is a member of the staff) is very knowledgeable and tries to be accommodating. They make it unintentionally obvious that they're very experienced. They also always seem to know who you are and what you up to. Dr. Valin insists that all patients work with a nutritionist and a psychologist pre-op and post-op. They have support groups for both pre-op and post-op's. Dr. Valin also conducts visits after the surgery; weekly, then monthly, then yearly. I think Dr. Valin is the best surgeon in the New England. After talking with people who have worked with him (patient and surgical) from all over the state they all agree that Dr. Valin is the best. He has the best results, is the best at what he does, has a good bedside manner, and has the best staff. I was very comfortable leaving my life in his hands!
(I think the thing I liked the least about him was that he used his sharp little scalpel to cut into me.) ;)
*In this form it says that "no person can be the 'best' in all aspects." But, I say he is! I have NOTHING negative to say about his work, his staff, or his results.
Dr. Valin is great. I really feel like I made the right choice in picking him as my surgeon. He takes time to address the questions and issues that I had. I have had endoscopies before and none have gone as well as when Dr. Valin did mine. The whole procedure has run like clockwork so far ( Thanks Lynn and esp. Debbie).
When I first Met Dr. Valin he was Very receptive of questions and very caring. He is a great Surgeon. His office is full of very nice workers. The nurses are also very receptive to your needs and questions. Pre-op you have alot of education. This continues post-op. I recommend Dr. Valin and his office. They are all Great to work with on a continous basis.
My first impression of Dr. Valin was that he was very caring. My good friend is a patient of his who had RNY Gastric Bypass surgery last year & I went with her to one of her post-op visits & she introduced me to him & said that I was interested in having wls, this man took the time to ask me some questions, like which surgery I was interested in & how long I had been researching WLS, then he gave me information on a seminar that was coming up for the Lap Band.
Dr. Valin's office staff are very efficient and NICE!!, especially his wife Debbie.
The thing that I like most about Dr. Valin was that he explained everything in detail to me &
always had time to answer my questions.
Dr. Valin's office staff really emphasize's aftercare because this is a life altering change.
I think the aftercare program is great!
Yes, he addressed in detail the risks of surgery.
I think Dr. Valin is wonderful, he is caring, kind & most of all very understanding.
I think Dr. Valin's surgical competence is great!, from all the research I have done on this type of surgery & on him, I KNOW I made the right choice!.
I can't say enough about Dr. Valin and the staff. I though Deb was the best from the first time I meet her. I wasn't feeling well right after surgery and the staff was great even though I was less than wonderful. I should have listened when they said that I would need more time to recover than I wanted to give myself. It is true that Doctor does know best. They were all there for me pre op and they are still there for me post op. I couldn't have a better set of people caring for me and about me.
