FIRST IMPRESSION:
My first impression of him was surprise because he is also obese, which I found interesting. But he seemed very friendly when I spoke to him while waiting. The office staff was wonderful. Shannon was the only staff there for Dr. Geller and she was so busy but still very attentive. Ashley from Right Weigh was also wonderful.
LASTING IMPRESSION:
Dr. Geller is still awesome in my eyes. He has been a wonderful doctor. I feel so fortunate to have him as my surgeon. At almost 4 months out, I have had no complications.
Compared to Dr. Shina Dr. Geller seemed a little stiff and rehearsed. He is also a little overweight which put me off at first. However, I found out he does all of the the "redo's" and other testimonials say he is good. He doesn't do RnY Laproscopically though and I really wanted to try and have it that way. His staff seems very nice. He particiates in the "right weigh" after care and stresses the patients need to be resposible for themselves. Dr. Shina and Dr. Geller both stressed the risks of this surgery to great length.
My first impression of Dr. Geller was that he seemed sort of disheveled, but within a few moments of sitting down to talk, I saw a very technical and sensitive doctor. What I liked best about him was that he was very upfront about his patient loss with this surgery. He stresses after care, and the program. I didnt really see anything I didnt like in Dr. Geller, and I feel confident in him as a surgeon. The staff was wonderful, especially Asley! I would definately rate Dr. Geller at least a nine....
I think Dr geller is a very nice man.He explained things very well.My 10 yr old daughter even went along and listened and understood everything. He is calm and patient. No one acts like you are gross or a failer. You can talk to anyone in the office and they are just the most kind understanding people you have ever met.Everyone emphasizes aftercare and really make you feal like you are not alone in this.I haven't went through the surgery yet so I don't know alot about the aftercare ,but the risks were all addressed really well.
I was impressed with him very much. He took the time to answer all of the questions, I had. He didn't make me feel bad or stupid about any question. The staff in his office, were nice. They were kind and not inconsiderate. Two of them had had the surgery themselves, and answered some questions, I had. I haven't found anything I don't like about him yet. He is very concerned with the after care of his patients. He told me up front at the first visit, that he would follow-up very closely after the surgery. It is a strict program. He also told me about the risks of the surgery. And he also told me the pros of the surgery also. I think on a scale of 1-10, I would say he is a 9 1/2. I would say surgical competence is most critical, but also bedside manner is critical also.
I was very impressed with Dr. Geller. He was a laid back person but very forward surgeon. He did not candy coat anything. He was straight to the point and very informative. His staff was very nice as well. Dr. Geller explained everything, the surgery, the risks, and the benefits. They are some of the most helpful people that I have ever met in a doctors office. I would recommend them to everyone that is interested in this surgery. I work in a doctor's office and have told everyone that comes in wanting the surgery to go to Dr. Geller. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are great, but if I had to choose I would pick surgical competence. They emphasize aftercare and are kinda strict about it too. They are giving us the tool to lose weight but it is up to us to follow through with it. I would rate their office as a 9/10!!!
