Christopher Reising Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

My first impression was that he was so young. My impression of him did change over time after I talked with some of his other patients in group and how positive their experiences were with their surgeon. I would my surgeon's office staff as very caring and wonderful. They take time with their patients. Any questions or concerns any patients have are answered immediately. I can't think of anything I don't like about my surgeon. He has alot of empathy for his patients. My surgeon does have a structured aftercare program. They make sure my vitamin levels are ok everytime I go to see my doctor. The dietician also follows up with the patient after surgery for a long time. She is there if there are any diet concerns or questions. My surgeon addressed the risks of my surgery very well. I was told about the risks about 5 different times from more than just the surgeon. I would rate him as a wonderful surgeon and would recommend him to anyone that needed surgery. I would have to say that surgical competence and bedside manner go hand in hand.

At first my opinion of Dr. Reising was WOW he was young and for me that translated to unexperienced. But as I got to know him and heard stories from other patients I became completly comfortable with him. When he did my sister's surgery his bedside manor was excellent and his attention to detail and his compassion & caring attitude makes him the right doctor for me personally. He really makes you feel like he cares and the entire Bariatric team at Saint Mike's Was excellent. I would reccomend Dr. Reising to anyone if they are choosing the program at St. Mike's. Overall I would rate Dr. Reising a (8). The aftercare program is structured and in place complete with a group support metting headed by the Surgery cordinator and the hospital dietician. Dr. Reising and his entire staff make themselves availible for questions at any time durnig the entire process.

Dr Reising is very professional and cares about the whole patient, not just the surgery the patient is considering. The office staff is exceptional. They are always available to talk about any part of the surgery or post-op recovery and never make you feel as though you shouldn't ask questions or they don't have time for you. The other surgeons who also perform this sugery at St Michael's are just as helpful. I have had very few problems relating from my surgery and the team approached each "set back" carefully to make sure all aspects of my health were taken into consideration and nothing was overlooked. I cannot say anything bad about my experience because after researching other's experiences on this website there was a level of "downside" to this procedure so I believe I had a realistic overview of what might occur. This team went beyond my expectations.
