Charles Alden Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I met with Dr. Alden for the first time this week. He was very kind. My hubby and I talked with him for about an hour. He asked me what I knew about this surgery. He also went into detail about RNY for my hubby. He explained everything very well.
He and his partner work together on this surgery. He explained their personal statistics to us...very impressive. We are both happy with my choice of doctor.

I met with Dr. Alden for the first time on 3/22/o5. I had met him before, breifly, at work, but never as a patient. I really enjoyed my meeting with him, and was amazed that we spent nearly an hour talking. He deffinately did not make me feel rushed, like many Doctors do. I was very impressed with the pracices statistics, and Dr. Alden made me feel very comfortable about putting my life in his hands. We discussed all aspects of the surgery, including diet and aftercare. I look forward to my next meeting with him, once my insurance is approved.

My first impression of Dr. Alden was a very good one. He was very knowledgeable and matter-of-fact about the whole procedure, and answered all my quesitons completely. I chose him because a very good friend of mine knows him personally, and her mother used to work in his office. She told me she'd trust him with her life. His office staff was also very warm and kind. You can tell they all like what they do and respect each other. I was also very impressed with the team of professionals that have been assembled to help with the pre-testing and the aftercare program. After reading so many profiles on this board, I also was very pleased that I didn't have to deal with any of the aspects of getting insurance approval that so many other people have had to do. Basically my experience was my PCP recommended me to a surgeon (I chose Alden), and from there Alden's office took care of getting everything together and sending it through to my insurance. My first appointment with Dr. Alden was in Aprl, and I had approval by mid-June. It was so simple. I also like that Dr. Alden and Dr. Weiland work together on all their gastric bypass patients. It was comforting to know that I would have two experienced surgeons working on me. I would highly recommend Dr. Alden.

Dr. Alden and his staff were great from day one. He has a great aftercare program and really wants to see every patient reach their goals. I give him and his staff a "10".

Dr. Alden was very professional and caring. He liked how I answered his questionnaire and was pleased that I knew so much already. He is very thorough and seems to be extremely competent. I was very pleased.

Dr. Alden is the best! He was really caring and truthful! I have every confidence in him! It is cool because he and Dr. Weiland do the surgery together at all times, one taking the lead and the other assisting, depending on who's patient you are. I highly recommend this way because if something goes wrong, you have 2 qualified doc's knowing what is going on ready to help and solve the problem~! I have follow up visits and he is pleased with my progress. He really seems happy for his patients! The team of nutritionist, psy, and doc are great here in Wausau!

Doctor Alden is a very patient man. He didn't rush me out. He answered all of my questions. He didn't make me feel as if I were just dollar signs to him! He was also very thorough. I've met with him twice, and will see him one last time a week before my surgery, on March 23, 2004. The next time I will see him after that will be the morning of my surgery, March 30, 2004.

I will actually be having two surgeons; Dr. Alden and Dr. Weiland (who will be the assistant). They perform the surgery (lap rny)together. I have only met with Dr. Alden, and I feel he has been very thorough and upfront with me. I was impressed with the way he drew pictures for me so I knew exactly what I was getting into. At my second (last, surgery date setting)consultation I took with me a list of questions that I had written down every time I thought of one and I asked them; and Dr. Alden said all my questions were excellent and commented about the fact that they showed how much I have been researching WLS.
Dr. Alden is great. I would recommend him to anyone. He genuinely cares about his patients. He not only cares about your physical health but also your mental health and other things. He is AWESOME.
