Dr Wittgrove is a very likable and well informed man. He made me feel comfortable the first time i met him. He didn't try to hurry me out of his office he answered all my questions and listened when i was talking. Everyone in his office is very helpful. We talked about the risks of the surgery and the risks of not having surgery, We talked about afterwards and he and his nurse Tracy come to Las Vegas and have support group meetings. I think he is great and has a good bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a bartric surgeon. He and his staff are wonderful.
First impression is that he is a very busy guy. He is very knowledgable. His office staff is huge. There are many different sections of his staff. I felt that his busyness was a little like putting me off. Future patients need to know that with Dr. Wittgrove you have to participate and ask him questions. He has no problem with answering any questions. Aftercare especially diet is very important. It is a moderate aftercare since a majority of patients do not reside in the San Diego Area. Dr. Wittgrove does address the risk of surgery. Overall Dr. Wittgrove is a super intelligent guy who knows what he is doing. I feel that with Dr. Wittgrove first impressions can be unjust. Dr. Wittgrove has a great surgical competence but with bedside manner the patient has to open up to him first.
My first impression of Dr. Whittgrove was that he was personable and confident. As I was very nervous, he definitely put me at ease in our first meeting. He answered all of my questions thoroughly. In the hospital he would visit. The visits were brief - very professional. His office staff is also personable consistent in communication. At this time I cannot make a judgment on what I liked least about the Dr. since nothing comes to mind. Future patients should know that he is top notch. He was referred to me by an aquaintance who had the surgery about 5 years ago. She described him as being the "Rolls Royce" of surgeons. Aftercare instructions are extremely reinforced. We are provided with literature and notebooks. There is no stone unturned with this program. We did not directly discuss the risks of the actual surgery - his office provides literature in advance of meeting with the Dr. At the first appointment, a True/False test is given - the risks are discussed in both the literature and the test. Most of the risks we discussed were about aftercare - walking, breathing, avoiding blood clots and pneumonia. Overall rating...Exceptional. Surgical competence is better. Bedside manner is nice. But I never want a "nice" terrible surgeon!
dr,witgove my first impression was "wow hhes handsom" honestly.but he was so knowledgeable and helpful on discribing my procedure.he removed all doubt from my mind.his office staff was so careing and helpful.the dr.and his wife(i belive an x ray tech)work together to check your gallbladder.by the way just get rid of it ,it doese go bad quickly and the pain from passing a stone is unbareable.the dr.has a fantastic bed side manner.he is bolth careing and respectful.and his sergical compitence is the best in the world.just ask carne wilson.it is not an easy sergery ,and garentee you will early in to the sergery wonder if it was the right thing to do ,but trust me it is.iv kept off 200lbs for 9 yrs.and iv had twin boys after the sergery.
Dr. Wittgrove was great. Down to earth and listens to everything you have to say. He makes himself available, as well as his staff. They are a great team, the communication is awsome. Aftercare is available, through support groups and one on one. I think it is wonderful that Dr. Wittgove himself attends the support group meetings. Dr. Wittgrove personally took the time to meet with me and explain all the risks of the surgury, I was comfortable with him which helped me remember all my questions I wanted addressed. Dr. Wittgrove and his staff are definatly a 10+ and I recommend him to any one whom is intrastead in having the surgury. He definatly has the surgical competence and the best bedside manner.
Dr. Wittgrove first seemed like a reserved, kinda-shy, but professional man. Gradually, I came to realize he is kind, funny, and absolutely wonderful. His office staff is completely non-judgemental and very friendly. I felt completely at ease having him perform the surgery, and talking to him over the phone for both pre and post-op conversations.
Dr. Wittgrove is very business-like. I also went in with tons of research under my belt, questions to ask, and was basically a know-it-all... So, I'm not sure how he handles patients who aren't as well informed.
I liked Dr. Wittgrove my first impression of him was great and he made me feel very comfortable about my situation and any questions that I had. The office staff at Alvarado is the best I have ever met and are willing to go the extra mile for you to help you through everything. They push aftercare through this program and I think that is one of the most important issues. He covered all the risk of my surgery with all of the co-morbilities that I had very carefully so that I would understand everything clearly. I would rate Alvarado Center for Surgical Weight Loss Center as an A+ institution and recommed it to anyone looking into the surgery.
