Dr. Oliphant is a softspoken, gentle person. He was attentive and answered all of my questions open and honestly. I was taken by the fact that he had awfully soft hands. Probably, outside of the scope of my surgery, but his soft hands seemed to match is kind and soft demeanor. I believe he has great bedside manner and that I will be in good hands. I have a good friend who had Dr. Oliphant for surgery for breast cancer and she cannot stop singing his praises. I'm happy that he has a diverse practice, especially as it relates to trauma. He performs bariatric surgeries twice per week, which explains the long lead time for surgery. I'm at peace and can't wait to be on the other side of surgery. Just based on the referrals and my brief interaction with Dr. Oliphant, I would recommend him highly. More to come, post surgery!

I have only met with my surgeon one time and I liked him very much. He took alot of time to explain things to me. He has a very good staff. His nurse Ann is wonderful. I have been told aftercare is of the up most importance. Ann tells me it is what will help me be successfull. And some of these questions I will be able to answer better after my surgery.

I THINK THAT DR. ROWITZ IS THE GREAT'S AND SO IS HIS STAFF. THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE THEY WANTED THIS FOR ME AS MUCH AS I DID. AND EVERYTIME I HAVE CALLED THEM THEY DIDN'T ACT LIKE THEY WHERE MAD OR DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO TALK TO ME.. I GIVE THEM AN A+++++!!!

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. ROWITZ WAS A GREAT ONE HE REALY TOLD ME EVERYTHINGI REALY NEEDED TO HEAR AND WHAT I WONTED TO KNOW. I LIKED HIM ALOT.

Really liked Dr. from the outset, his office staff were very nice at all visits.He is very firm about aftercare and would like all of his patients to attend the support meetings. I had no problems with my surgery and he had a great bedside manner.

My frist visit with Dr. Rowitz went real well. I believe that he really cares about his patients.

Dr. Uretz J Oliphant, MD is my doctor and he and his office, including his nutritionist, Margaret Trenkamp, RD are FANTASTIC!! I felt very comfortable as soon as I entered the area to sign in for seeing the doctor. They have the seating that is comfortable for larger people, and they get you right in to see the doctor and Ms. Trenkamp VERY QUICKLY!! I found his nurse a real sweetheart, so kind, just like the rest of his staff. I found Dr. Oliphant to be very confident (NOT SMUG, you just knew you were in good hands with him), a big guy with a winning smile and a big heart! He was brutally honest about the risks with the surgery and he expects his patients to follow his instructions to the letter if they want to maintain the weight loss, WE HAVE GOT TO DO OUT PART...but, I definetly come away feeling it was a 'team' effort and the good doctor would help his patients in any way he could. I was very impressed with everyone on his staff and left with such a good feeling, the hospital (Carle in Urbana) is an excellent one and I know that I just couldn't be in better hands. I have prayed for God to send me to the perfect doctor for ME and I feel this has happened with Dr. Oliphant! I await my insurance approval and will update this as I go along in this journey, but I strongly recommend this wonderful doctor and his caring team, they are A-1 in my book!!

I meet Dr.Oliphant and my first Impression was,a very Kind and caring man.He had a woman student with him and she seemed very nice and concerned with my situation.I have since had my surgery and I'm doing Fantastic. I would recommand anyone having this surgery to get with Dr. oliphant at Carle Hospital In Illinois. He's the bomb.. I also meet with Ann his nurse and she is just great,very kind and caring.I'm healing so quick and feeling better everyday.. A BIG Thank You to DR. Oliphant...

When I first met Dr. Rowitz I immediatley felt at ease with him. He was very open about all the risks associated with bariatric surgery as well as the benefits. I felt like he truly cared and he didn't treat me as "just another patient". He took the time to answer my questions and encouraged me to come to support group and talk with his other patients. He has a wonderful office staff that truly care about the patients. Dr. Rowitz is not only a wonderful surgeon but a wonderful person as well. The care and concern that he shows toward his patients in unbelieveable. We become his patients for life. He is very concerned with how we are doing even years after the surgery. In my opinion there's not a better surgeon around.

Dr. Rowitz is the BEST!! He is very considerate & concerned. When I was in ICU, he came by twice a day & called right before he went to bed at home! In the regular room, he visited once a day. He never seemed to be in a hurry & was always there to listen. Explained everything thoroughly & answered every concern I had. His nurse Judy is also the greatest! She is also very concerned to handle all my needs & makes you feel you are the only patient. I very highly recommend Dr. Rowitz.
