Rachel Goldman, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist specializing in health and wellness, including health behavior change, obesity, bariatric surgery (pre-op and post-op), weight management, eating behaviors, and stress reduction. Specifically, Dr. Goldman helps individuals make behavioral changes to live longer, happier, and healthier lives.
Prior to starting her private practice, Dr. Goldman served as the senior psychologist at the Bellevue Center for Obesity & Weight Management at Bellevue Hospital. She conducted over 4,000 pre-surgical evaluations and has provided follow-up care for patients ranging from days to 8+ years after surgery.
She has facilitated bariatric surgery related treatment groups focused on binge eating, emotional eating, general behavior change, relationship changes, and psychological adjustment. She has facilitated bariatric support groups.
Dr. Goldman has also been an expert guest on Sirius XM Doctor Radio many times discussing weight loss. She was the chairperson for the Early Career Member Committee of The Obesity Society for the past three years and is on professional committees of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
