J. Timothy Katzen, MD is an internationally recognized leader in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery after massive weight loss and President of The American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons.

He completed his general surgery internship and residency at the University of Hawaii and plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University. He participated in three-year-long fellowships at widely renowned teaching hospitals of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, New York University Medical Center, and St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Katzen is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgeons. He is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a qualified Medical Examiner. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, J.B. Lynch Society, Converse Society, and Scott, Jr. Society.

Dr. Katzen has lectured throughout the world about his innovative 360 Circumferential Body Lift. He has written and published many articles and book chapters. Dr. Katzen has appeared on many television shows and is known by most television networks as a leading expert discussing plastic surgery after massive weight loss. In addition, he has lectured both on the radio and Internet.
