Grigoriy Klimovich, MD, FASMBS is a fellowship-trained general and bariatric surgeon practicing in Middlesex, Connecticut at the Middlesex Health Center for Medical and Surgical Weight Loss. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina and completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He went on to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive bariatric surgery at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut where he served as an instructor and clinical fellow.
Dr. Klimovich is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He has co-authored numerous abstracts, articles, and publications with important research on perioperative outcomes, patient safety, and factors affecting complications of Laparoscopic Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) and Roux-en-Y (RNY) Gastric Bypass in the elderly and more.
He is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and Phi Kappa Phi. Dr. Klimovich is the recipient of numerous awards including the George Paff resident award, biology student of the year and science student of the year.
Dr. Klimovich is known for his dedication to the treatment of obesity, patient safety, and successful patient outcomes. Using the very latest in technology and technique, he expertly performs minimally invasive Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), the Roux-en-Y (RNY) Gastric Bypass, and weight loss surgery revisions. Dr. Klimovich also has a special interest in performing reconstruction for large and complex hernias, gallbladder surgery, bile duct stones, colon surgery, Paraesophageal Hernia repair, and acute care surgery.
