Michael J. Orris Bariatric Surgeon D.O.

Dr. Orris is a partner and one of the lead surgeons at Weight Loss Institute of Arizona. Dr. Orris attended medical school at Philadelphia College of Ostepathic Medicine, completed his residency at PinnacleHealth in Harrisburg, PA, and earned a master's degree in healthcare administration from St. Joseph's University.  As a surgeon he recognized the negative impact that excess weight has on society, and developed a passion for helping patients attain and maintain a healthy body weight. Every year Dr. Orris successfully performs hundreds of weight loss surgeries. Patients at the Weight Loss Institute of Arizona benefit from his years of bariatric surgery experience and the personal intensity he brings to every case. With his vast knowledge in the field of bariatric surgery, Dr. Orris is well known for accepting complicated and challenging cases.  He is Director of Bariatric Surgery at Banner Estrella Medical Center in West Phoenix and serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at Midwestern University. Board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, Dr. Orris is also a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is a Lap-Band proctor for Allergan, training other surgeons in the correct technique for performing Lap-Band procedures.  Dr. Orris sees patients at Weight Loss Institie of Arizona (WLIA).
